Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on evaluating the use of holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser during retrograde intrarenal surgery for kidney stones, involving 769 patients with detailed laser setting parameters recorded.
  • Results showed that higher laser power and frequency were used for middle calyceal stones, and there were positive correlations between laser parameters and factors like anesthesia time, surgery time, and stone size.
  • The study concluded that larger stone sizes and higher Hounsfield unit values significantly affected laser settings, leading to longer surgical durations and extended hospital stays, especially noted in cases with more severe intraoperative ureteral lesions.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how uterocervical angles (UCA) can predict the outcomes of second-trimester pregnancy terminations in multiparous women, using data from 148 participants.
  • Results indicate that women with a broader UCA (≥97.5°) have a higher success rate for terminations and experience shorter induction-to-delivery times compared to those with a narrower UCA.
  • UCA is identified as the sole significant factor influencing the success of pregnancy terminations, with a statistical correlation indicating that a wider angle leads to better outcomes.
