Background: Today, the use of cellular therapies as an effective treatment in the field of health is increasing. In the COVID-19 pandemic or similar situations, cellular therapies may be sometimes life-saving. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us that the training of intensive care nurses in special cases, such as cellular therapies, is insufficient.

Objectives: Although thyroidectomy is completed with a cervical incision in most patients with substernal goiter (SG), sternotomies may be required occasionally. The purpose of this study is to examine computed tomography (CT) findings that may predict the need for sternotomy in SG surgery.
Methods: Neck-thoracic CT images of patients who underwent total thyroidectomy with the diagnosis of SG between 2013 and 2022 were retrospectively examined.

Objective: Not only the frequency of surgery for small renal masses has increased secondary to the improvements and frequent use of imaging techniques but also the frequency of detection of benign lesions in nephrectomy specimens has increased as well. We aimed to assess the predictive value of computed tomography density of perirenal adipose tissue and peritumoral adipose tissue in distinguishing between benign and malignant renal masses.
Materials And Methods: The current study included 116 patients who underwent nephrectomy for renal masses between January 2015 and December 2020.

Objective: The immune system has an essential role in the development of cancer by showing both anti-tumor and pro-tumor activities. Understanding the immune func- tion of patients with malignancy is of clinical importance for the evaluation, treatment, and prognosis of the disease. We aimed to evaluate lymphocyte subtypes in peripheral blood samples of prostate cancer patients and their relationship with clinicopathologi- cal features and prognosis.

Mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MPCNL), which has a smaller tract size (14-20 Fr) than conventional percutaneous nephrolithotomy, has been shown to be safe and effective in pediatric patients with large and complex upper urinary tract stones. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of MPCNL between the supine and prone positions in a pediatric population. The data of pediatric patients who underwent MPCNL at our center between January 2010 and March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.

Objective: In this study, the utility of histogram parameters derived from diffusion-weighted imaging for differentiate renal cell carcinoma (RCC) from oncocytoma was investigated.
Methods: This research tracked 126 individuals who were diagnosed with RCC and oncocytoma through histopathological analysis, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) assessments from 2015 to 2023. We observed various attributes of these patients, including demographic details, surgical records, pre-surgery MRI results, MRI apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) histogram analysis, and post-surgery histopathological outcomes.

Objective: In recent years, new developments have been incorporated into daily practice in the management of immune thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (iTTP). In particular, clinical scoring systems could help clinicians with clinical decision-making and early recognition. However, older patients frequently present with more organ involvement and in unusual ways.

Background: Previous studies have shown that hepatic fibrosis indices and rates can be used to predict cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. Our aim with this study was to investigate the effect of aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotransferase (AST/ALT) ratio and fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) index calculated with ALT, AST, and platelet biomarkers, which are simple, fast, and relatively inexpensive and were used in previous studies to predict cardiovascular disease prognosis, on the prediction of postoperative morbidity and early mortality after mitral valve replacement (MVR) surgery.
Methods: By scanning the hospital electronic health record system, 116 patients who underwent isolated MVR or MVR + tricuspid valve intervention were identified from 178 patients who underwent MVR with the standard sternotomy procedure between 2011 and 2021.

Background: In this retrospective study the effects of the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR), mean platelet volume to platelet count ratio (MPV/PC) values as well as C‑reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) levels on the severity and mortality in critically ill child trauma cases were evaluated.
Methods: A total of 80 trauma cases aged 31 days to 16 years that were followed-up in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) were included in the study. The data of the patients on the first day of hospitalization (T1), the median day of intensive care admission (T2), and before discharge or exitus (T3) were analyzed.

Background: Concomitant medications may potentially affect the outcome of cancer patients. In this sub-analysis of the ARON-2 real-world study (NCT05290038), we aimed to assess the impact of concomitant use of proton pump inhibitors (PPI), statins, or metformin on outcome of patients with metastatic urothelial cancer (mUC) receiving second-line pembrolizumab.
Methods: We collected data from the hospital medical records of patients with mUC treated with pembrolizumab as second-line therapy at 87 institutions from 22 countries.
