Objective: To compare drug (paclitaxel)-coated balloon angioplasty with femoropopliteal bypass surgery in the treatment of femoropopliteal lesions.

Methods: A retrospective study was performed between January 2015 and January 2019, covering a four-year period. All subjects who underwent femoropopliteal bypass surgery and drug-coated balloon angioplasty over a four-year period were evaluated.

Background And Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the differences in clinical and radiological features at the first demyelinating event in children with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Methods: This was a single center retrospective cohort study of the children with CIS followed-up at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Neurology, between 2010 and 2018. Children with CIS who were assessed at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months following their first identified demyelinating event were included.

The factors relevant to partial remission in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus after measles vaccination: A retrospective study.

We aimed to identify the determinants of partial remission in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM), and whether there is an influence of vaccination against measles on partial remission. This was a retrospective study consisting of consecutive patients diagnosed with type 1 DM followed-up from 1 September 2010, through 30 November 2011. The study included children vaccinated within 3 months after diagnosis, and children unvaccinated during the first 12 months of the disease.

Objectives: The aim of this point prevalence survey was to evaluate the consumption, indications and strategies of antifungal therapy in the paediatric population in Turkey.

Methods: A point prevalence study was performed at 25 hospitals. In addition to general data on paediatric units of the institutes, the generic name and indication of antifungal drugs, the presence of fungal isolation and susceptibility patterns, and the presence of galactomannan test and high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) results were reviewed.

Peripheral neuropathy in Tangier disease: A literature review and assessment.

Tangier disease (TD) (OMIM#205400) is a rare cause of inherited metabolic neuropathies characterized by marked deficiency of high-density lipoproteins and accumulation of cholesterol esters in various tissue resulting from reverse cholesterol transport deficiency. We report a case of a patient with TD with multifocal demyelinating neuropathy with conduction block who presents with winging scapula, tongue, and asymmetric extremity weakness. We also present a review of all studies published from 1960 to 2017 regarding peripheral neuropathy in TD.

Robot-Assisted Perineal Radical Prostatectomy in a Post-Kidney Transplant Recipient.

After almost two decades, transabdominal robotic radical prostatectomy techniques have been fully developed and are widely practiced by many robotic urologists. Recently, a transperineal robotic radical prostatectomy, a technique not yet popular to many, was introduced as an alternative approach in patients with previous abdominal surgery. Here, we present our unique experience with robotic perineal radical prostatectomy (r-PRP) on a kidney transplant recipient.

The Role of Diffusion-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Differential Diagnosis of Simple and Hydatid Cysts of the Liver.

Introduction: The present study indicates that simple and hydatid cysts in liver are a common health problem in Turkey. The aim of the study is to differentiate different types of hydatid cysts from simple cysts by using diffusion-weighted images.

Background: Ectopic pregnancies constitute about 2% of all pregnancies which are the leading cause of pregnancy-related deaths and a considerable cause of maternal morbidity. Oxidative stress can lead to a number of pregnancy related diseases including miscarriage, eclampsia and preterm labor.
