The pain symptoms and mass recurrence rates after ovarian cystectomy or uni/bilateral oophorectomy procedures in patients over 40 years old with endometriosis.

Objectives: To evaluate the rates of pain and mass recurrence of the patients over 40 years old with endometriosis who underwent ovarian cystectomy or uni/bilateral oophorectomy.

Material And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted with 98 patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis in a tertiary referral center between the time period July 2015 and July 2019. All the patients followed every 3 months and requested to fill the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for evaluation of pelvic pain and an ultrasound scan was performed.

Aggressive Posterior Retinopathy of Prematurity Treated with Intravitreal Bevacizumab: Late Period Fluorescein Angiographic Findings.

Objective: To evaluate vascularization end limit of the peripheral retina and describe vascular development patterns of patients at the late period with aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity (APROP) who were treated with a single intravitreal injection of bevacizumab.

Methods: All patients were examined with RetCam III and fluorescein angiography (FA) within 90-100 gestational week. The vascularization end limit according to the zones and vascular structural abnormalities were noted.

An Expanding Role of Biomarkers in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.

Background: Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) is a chronic disease which may cause or result from multiple cardiopulmonary disorders. The disease has complex pathophysiological mechanisms and involves many systematic, cellular and molecular changes. Therefore, it is crucial to find out underlying mechanisms and detect biomarkers to achieve early and proper diagnosis, evaluating disease severity, for follow-up and monitor response to treatment.

Association of endogenous melatonin with uric acid and traditional cardiovascular risk factors in healthy young male.

Background: Uric acid may act as an antioxidant; high serum uric acid levels are often associated with cardiovascular disease, such as coronary artery disease. Melatonin plays a role as a direct free radical scavenger and indirect antioxidant. No study has examined the relationships between endogenous melatonin and uric acid in order to predict the risk of future cardiovascular disease in males so far.

Assessment of carotid body tumor and its association with tetralogy of fallot: effect of the chronic hypoxia.

This is a rare combined presentation of Tetralogy of Fallot and carotid body tumor (CBT). Hypotheses and further discussion provides data for the development of CBT as a response to chronic hypoxemia. This present study demonstrates and discusses such an occurrence.
