A Baker's cyst is usually an incidental finding in adults being investigated for a joint arthropathy, and its rupture preceding the diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is rare in children. Here, we describe a case of a 4-year-old girl who presented to the Emergency Department with right calf pain, swelling, and no preceding history of trauma. MRI confirmed a ruptured Baker's cyst with inflammatory arthropathy alongside an extensive synovial proliferation throughout the knee joint with large joint effusions and associated soft tissue oedema tracking superiorly and inferiorly along the medial head of gastrocnemius and anteriorly along the tibia.

Background: Treatment methods for popliteal cysts have varied over the past several decades and have posed challenges to providers as recurrences were frequent. With greater understanding of relevant anatomy, both operative and nonoperative treatment methods have evolved to appropriately target relevant pathology and improve outcomes. The purposes of this review were to outline the evolution of treatment methods and to qualitatively summarize clinical outcomes.

Background: In adults, Baker's cyst development is attributable principally to secondary alterations after degenerative changes. The latter changes often accompany osteoarthritis, and we frequently encounter patients with Baker's cysts seeking total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Baker's cysts are not usually subject to extensive preoperative evaluation because the cysts often disappear naturally after surgery, unaccompanied by any adverse symptoms.

Background: Pulmonary decline in CF is heterogeneous, with socio-environmental factors contributing to this variability. Few studies have attempted to disentangle the effects of tobacco smoke exposure and socioeconomic factors on lung function deterioration in pediatric CF. The current study evaluates their contributions longitudinally across the entire U.

Adventitial cystic disease of the popliteal artery is a rare non-atheromatous peripheral artery disease. In most cases, the cystic lesion is located in the adventitia of the popliteal artery. Herein, we present a rare case of cystic arterial disease in which the cyst was located only in the media of the popliteal artery.

Paratubal cysts are usually incidentally found due to being small and asymptomatic adnexal structures. Enlargement to more than 15 cm concurrent with late presentation in an adult is rare. We present the case of a 36 cm diameter cyst in a 31-year-old female whose symptoms involved overactive bladder, abdominal bloating, and pressure.

Aims: We report the natural course of Baker's cysts following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) at short- and mid-term follow-up.
Methods: In this prospective case series, 105 TKA patients were included. All patients who received surgery had a diagnosis of primary osteoarthritis and had preoperatively presented with a Baker's cyst.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether Baker cyst (BC) was related to the specific arrangement of the medial head of gastrocnemius tendon (MHGT) and the semimembranosus tendon (SMT).
Materials And Methods: Patients who underwent knee MRI with "Baker cyst" in PACS from August 2017 to February 2018 were included in this study. Patients who did not have BC in a knee MRI performed during the same period were included in the control group.

Background: Pain is a significant cause of disability in knee osteoarthritis. Conventional radiography is widely used in the assessment of knee osteoarthritis, however radiographic findings do not correlate well with pain. Ultrasonography can be used to evaluate the soft tissue structures of the knee that can be related to pain.

Purpose: The use of routine physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) after certain hand procedures, such as carpal tunnel release, remains controversial. The objective of this study was to evaluate baseline use, the change in use, variation in prescribing patterns by region, and costs for PT/OT after common hand procedures.
Methods: Outpatient administrative claims data from patients who underwent procedures for carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, carpometacarpal arthritis, de Quervain tenosynovitis, wrist ganglion cyst, and distal radius fracture were abstracted from the Truven Health MarketScan database from 2007 to 2015.

A thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) is a common pediatric midline neck mass. Most TGDCs occur in the region of the hyoid bone but have been found less commonly in areas from the oral cavity to the sternum. We present the first reported case of a multifocal floor of mouth (FOM)/cervical TGDC representing an atypical embryonic course.

The authors present two cases in which the ruptured popliteal (Baker's) cysts remained undetected and were diagnosed only during an isotope investigation. The aim was to describe a specific imaging sign, the "arch sign", that is indicative of ruptured Baker's cysts. In both cases, the whole-body imaging was performed 2 hours after injection of 706.

The cystic adventitial disease of the popliteal artery is an uncommon cause of intermittent claudication in young patients. Several treatment options are available, oriented to either drainage of the cyst and/or arterial reconstruction. Endovascular techniques have been exceptionally used to treat this condition, with mixed results.

The condition usually occurs in the popliteal artery, but in rarer cases in arteries of the forearm, where it may lead to symptoms caused by local swelling or arterial occlusion. CASE DESCRIPTION A 54-year-old woman was referred by her general practitioner for a wrist swelling.
