Tufting enteropathy (TE) is caused by recessive mutations, and is characterized by intractable diarrhea of congenital onset and disorganization of enterocytes. TE generally requires parenteral nutrition (PN) during childhood or intestinal bowel transplantation. We report three unrelated families with six children with TE.

A nationwide retrospective study in Turkish children with nephrocalcinosis.

Background: Nephrocalcinosis (NC) is defined as calcium deposition in the kidney parenchyma and tubules. This study aims to determine the etiology, risk factors, and follow-up results of patients with NC in Turkey.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with NC in the pediatric nephrology Department Units of 19 centers from all geographical regions of Turkey over a 10-year period (2010-2019) were included in the study.

The relation between severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and demyelinating Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) has been defined. We aim to report the clinical features of a child with axonal GBS associated with SARS-CoV-2. A 6-year-old male presented with symmetric ascending paralysis progressed over a 4-day course and 2 days of fever.

Purpose: Biliary atresia (BA) is a disease that manifests as jaundice after birth and leads to progressive destruction of the ductal system in the liver. The aim of this study was to investigate histopathological changes and immunohistochemically examine the expression of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), synaptophysin, and S-100 protein in the gallbladder of BA patients.

Methods: The study included a BA group of 29 patients and a control group of 41 children with cholecystectomy.

Hemodialysis (HD) patients have a higher risk for developing severe COVID-19 because of older age, multiple co-morbid conditions, and impaired immune system compared to the general population. As little is known about these special groups, we evaluated the clinical characteristics and outcomes of HD patients with COVID-19.

Can pre-procedural MRI signal intensity ratio predict the success of uterine artery embolization in treatment of myomas?

Background/aim: Magnetic resonance (MR) images, signal intensity ratios calculated using region of interests (ROI) in T2W images by proportioning the dominant myoma to iliac muscle can aid patient selection and, thus, in achieving better outcomes with the uterine artery embolization (UAE) procedure. The present study investigates the association between the success of UAE treatment with signal intensity (SI) ratio of the dominant myoma to the iliac muscle in MR imaging performed prior to the procedure.

Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study and included 30 patients who admitted to our clinic between February 2017 and July 2019 due to symptoms associated with myoma and who underwent MR imaging before and after UAE treatment.

Patients and methods A total of 40 patients with early stage right and left-sided breast carcinomas (T1/T2 + N0) were randomly selected.
