Lucerne milestone approach for benchmarking and education: Towards ultra-low dose endovascular aortic repair.

Objective: The aim of this single-center case series is to demonstrate that an ultra-low dose (ULD) can be routinely achieved in the hybrid operating room in standard endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) for infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm by adjusting the manufacturer's predefined imaging parameters, hardware configurations and user protocols (including benchmarking).

Methods: The hybrid operating room manufacturer predefined EVAR software setup of the dose exposure control software (OPTIQ, Siemens Healthineers, Forchheim, Germany) at our university medical center was screened for possible improvements regarding radiation dose application. Tests on a water-equivalent as well as polymethyl methacrylate phantom model to assess the impact of technical settings were performed, including comparison of settings for exposure control software, different magnification, collimation configurations and detector distance.

Standardisation of the Brazilian version of Lucerne ICF-based multidisciplinary observational scale (LIMOS) into a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM).

Purpose: The LIMOS is a validated observational tool designed to assess stroke rehabilitation within hospital settings. To enable its application in outpatient settings in Brazil and similar low- and middle-income countries, it is necessary to adapt LIMOS into a Patient-Reported Outcome Measure (PROM). Vertical neglect towards the lower space after bilateral parietal strokes - A case study.

While considerable knowledge has been acquired concerning the involvement of the parietal cortex in horizontal visuo-spatial attention, the understanding of its specific contribution to the vertical dimension remains limited. Here we present the exceptional case of a patient, who suffered from two consecutive ischemic strokes at the same location within the left and right Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) territory, involving the superior parietal lobule, the supramarginal gyrus, and the angular gyrus. While the first left-hemispheric stroke led to a right-sided neglect, the consecutive stroke in the right hemisphere led to a left-sided neglect.

Fatal Generalized Metastatic Calcifications.

Metastatic calcifications are a rare but potentially fatal complication of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). In this case, a 76-year-old man with a previously asymptomatic PHPT developed a hypercalcemic crisis with severe pancreatitis following elective urologic surgery. Despite initial treatment focused on pancreatitis and subsequent organ failure, hypercalcemia persisted, leading to rapid progressive metastatic calcifications in multiple organs.
