The objective of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of percutaneous graft biopsy, specifically in patients who have undergone robotic kidney transplantation, a topic that has received limited attention in the existing literature. While percutaneous graft biopsy is well established in patients who have undergone open transplantation, its application in robotic transplantation remains relatively unexplored. A retrospective analysis was conducted on patient records spanning from 2013 to 2024, focusing on those who underwent graft biopsy due to acute graft dysfunction.

Background: The prognosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) varies from mild disease with a normal life expectancy to heart failure and sudden cardiac death (SCD). The identification of patients who are at high risk for SCD remains challenging.
Aims: In this study, we evaluated the prognostic value of papillary muscle-free strain in HCM patients.

Right colon cancer often requires surgical intervention, and complete mesocolic excision (CME) has emerged as a standard procedure. The study aims to evaluate and compare the safety and efficacy of robotic and laparoscopic CME for patients with right colon cancer and 5-year survival rates examined to determine the outcomes. Patients who underwent CME for right-sided colon cancer between 2014 and 2021 were included in this study.

Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is characterized by inflammatory attacks due to overactivation of pyrin inflammasome. This study aimed to investigate the reliability of S100A8/A9, neopterin, and matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3) at monitoring subclinical inflammation and disease activity, and at differentiating FMF attacks from appendicitis, the most common misdiagnosis among FMF patients. Blood samples (n = 75), comprising from FMF patients during an attack (n = 20), the same FMF patients during the attack-free period (n = 14), patients with appendicitis (n = 24), and healthy volunteers (n = 17) were obtained.

Background: As a two-stage surgical procedure, Masquelet's technique has been used to care for critical-size bone defects (CSD). We aimed to determine the effects of modified and altered bone cement with biological or chemical enriching agents on the progression of Masquelet's induced membrane (IM) applied to a rat femur CSD model, and to compare the histopathological, biochemical, and immunohistochemical findings of these cements to enhance IM capacity.
Methods: Thirty-five male rats were included in five groups: plain polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), estrogen-impregnated PMMA (E+PMMA), bone chip added PMMA (BC+PMMA), hydroxyapatite-coated PMMA (HA) and calcium phosphate cement (CPC).

Background: The use of high-sensitivity troponin levels increases the sensitivity of the diagnosis of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). However, the inclusion of other factors in the differential diagnosis, apart from atherothrombosis causing myocardial injury, decreases the specificity of high-sensitivity troponin. In this study, we compared the efficacy of high-sensitivity troponin with serum oncostatin M in NSTEMI cases with elevated urea and creatinine.

The use of pelvic osseous fixation corridors and lag screw fixation in acetabular and pelvic surgery has gained popularity, especially with the recent development of intraoperative imaging and navigation techniques. However, advanced intraoperative imaging and navigation techniques require technical equipment and are costly. Therefore, traditional fluoroscopic techniques still maintain their importance.

Introduction: Male breast cancer, comprising approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases, often leads to the exclusion of male patients as a criterion in clinical trials. While the efficacy of Cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 (CDK 4/6) inhibitors has been established in metastatic hormone receptor-positive (HR +) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2 -) breast cancer in women, limited data exist on their effectiveness in male patients. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of palbociclib or ribociclib in male patients with breast cancer.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide, and despite advances in treatment, molecular biomarkers are needed for both early diagnosis and prognosis monitoring. It is known that microRNAs (miRNA), one of the epigenetic mechanisms, are effective in the initiation and development of cancer by regulating the activity of tumor suppressors and/or oncogenes. In this study, the potential of the molecules let-7, miRNA125b, and miRNA30a, which are known to play a role in cellular processes, as biomarkers for colorectal cancer and their molecular mechanisms were investigated in this model.
