The proliferation of multimedia-based deepfake content in recent years has posed significant challenges to information security and authenticity, necessitating the use of methods beyond dependable dynamic detection. In this paper, we utilize the powerful combination of Deep Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Transfer Learning (TL) to introduce a new technique for identifying deepfakes in multimedia systems. Each of the GAN architectures may be customized to detect subtle changes in different multimedia formats by combining their advantages.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examined how over-fertilizing fish ponds with various fertilizers (NPK, TSP, DAP) leads to increased levels of heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cd, Cr) in water, sediment, and fish species, particularly noting that DAP caused the highest metal concentrations.
  • - Heavy metal levels were significantly higher in fertilizer-applied groups compared to a control group, with DAP showing the most pronounced effects; however, the health index for fish muscles remained safe for consumption.
  • - The researchers emphasize the need for careful monitoring and regulation of fertilizer use, especially DAP, to prevent contamination and recommend exploring sustainable farming practices to reduce environmental health risks.

Pressmud compost is an organic soil amendment and a robust technology that has potential to restore toxic metals (TMs) polluted soil. The application of organic amendments including pressmud compost in soil for toxic metals (TMs) alleviation have gained considerable attention as compared to traditional methods among the scientific community. In this review paper, we summarized the literature aiming to understand the immobilization efficacy of TMs such as cadmium, lead, chromium, copper, nickel, iron, zinc, and manganese, underlying mechanisms, plant growth, essential nutrients and soil health under pot, field and incubation conditions which has not been well investigated up-to-date.

Pot experiment was performed aimed to assess the comparative role of charcoal, biochar, hydrochar and thiourea-vegetable modified biochar at 1 and 2 % doses, and <1 mm particle size on the bioavailability of Cd, Pb, As, Ni, Cu and Zn, and enhance NPK, and mustard growth in a slightly alkaline polluted soil. Furthermore, machine learning method was used to examine the systematic evaluation of the impact of feature selection based on Pearson's correlation on the performance of the linear regression model. The results revealed that maximum fresh and dry biomass of mustard was observed by 26.

A model for green-resilient supplier selection: fuzzy best-worst multi-criteria decision-making method and its applications.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

April 2023

Department of Marketing, College of Business Administration, Ajman University, Ajman, United Arab Emirates.

Supplier selection is regarded as the primary goal of supply chain management (SCM) because it affects its performance, productivity, pleasure, flexibility, and system speed in lockdown. A new method is proposed based on a multi-stage fuzzy sustainable supplier index (FSSI). Experts can use the triple bottom line (TBL) criteria to select the best supplier.

Assessing the Best Supplier Selection Criteria in Supply Chain Management During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Front Psychol

April 2022

Department of Marketing, College of Business Administration, Ajman University, Ajman, United Arab Emirates.

In the last 10 years, organizations and researchers have recognized the importance of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) because of the consumers, -profit and non-profit organizations, laws and regulations, and consumer social and corporate responsibilities. Supplier selection, environmental effects such as social cooperation, and other SSCM programmes, can all help to achieve the "triple bottom line (TBL)" of economic, environmental, and social advantages. Sustainable supplier selection (SSS) and firm performance are important factors in supply chain management (SCM).

Soil conditioners improve rhizodegradation of aged petroleum hydrocarbons and enhance the growth of Lolium multiflorum.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

February 2022

Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Biological Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, 45320, Pakistan.

Bioremediation and phytoremediation have demonstrated potential for decontamination of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soils. The total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) are known to induce phytotoxicity, reduce water retention in soil, associate hydrophobic nature and contaminants' in situ heterogeneous distribution, limit soil nutrient release and reduce soil aeration and compaction. The ageing of TPHs in contaminated soils further hinders the degradation process.

The current study was dedicated to finding the effect of soil amendments (biochar and compost) on plants belonging to Poaceae and Fabaceae families. Plants selected for the phytoremediation experiment included wheat (Triticum aestivum), maize (Zea mays), white clover (Trifolium repens), alfalfa (Medicago sativa), and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). The physiological and microbial parameters of plants and soil were affected negatively by the 4 % TPHs soil contamination.
