Background: The frequency of asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection with viral spread is unclear. Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection development and progression was investigated in subjects undergoing mandatory quarantine on airport arrival.
Methods: 2714 subjects were tested for SARS-CoV-2 and all were quarantined for 2 weeks.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by a newly identified strain of the coronavirus family that has been shown to affect the hemoglobin beta chain, the same chain that has sickle cell disease (SCD) mutation. This study was undertaken to see if COVID-19 infection increased disease severity in patients with SCD.

Our case was initially admitted with chest discomfort and congestive heart failure with a presumptive diagnosis of non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction and was later found to have a large left atrial (LA) mass. In addition to a complete echocardiography study, multimodality imaging was utilized to better characterize the LA mass. Despite this, the diagnosis could not be confirmed.

Objective: Since thyroid dysfunction is a common disorder and affecting all populations regardless of iodine status, a comprehensive evaluation of thyroid dysfunction in Bahrain is essential to draw a national strategy, increase public awareness, and recognize the role of ethnicity.
Methods: Following the approval of the Research Ethics Committee, the study was initiated by collecting laboratory and patient's data that have performed thyroid function tests (TFTs) during January 2018 till January 2019 at the Royal Services of Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Military Hospital. TFTs data for 19,736 subjects were collected and analyzed using SPSS.

We describe the characteristics of ambulatory patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in the Gulf region (Middle East) and the implementation of guideline-recommended treatments. We included 2427 HFrEF outpatients (mean age 59 ± 13 years, 75% males and median left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF] of 30%). A high proportion of patients received guideline-recommended medications (angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor [ACEI]/angiotensin receptor blocker [ARB]/angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor [ARNI] 87%, β-blocker 91%, mineralocorticoid antagonist [MRA] 64%).

The questionnaire included four main sections, in addition to the demographic factors questions.

Germ cell tumors (GCTs) arise along the midline, in which 50-70% of extragonadal GCTs occur in the mediastinum. Malignant GCTs are more common in males, while benign GCTs occur equally in both males and females. Burkitt's lymphoma is a rapidly growing, high-grade B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has three distinct variants. Of these, sporadic Burkitt's lymphoma most frequently involves the gastrointestinal system, and the hypopharynx is a rare site of occurrence. Here, the authors report a case of sporadic Burkitt's lymphoma in a 28-year-old male who presented with change of voice as the only complaint.

BACKGROUND The pulmonary hypoplasia/agenesis, diaphragmatic hernia/eventration, anophthalmia/microphthalmia, and cardiac defect (PDAC) syndrome is a rare medical condition presumably of autosomal recessive way of inheritance with only a few reported cases. Recessive mutations in the STRA6 and both recessive and dominant mutations in RARB gene have been identified as the cause of anophthalmia/microphthalmia and other abnormalities included in the PDAC spectrum. However, those mutations have not been found in all PDAC syndrome cases reviewed from the literature.

Transnasal sphenopalatine ganglion block is emerging as is an attractive and effective treatment modality for acute migraine headaches, cluster headache, trigeminal neuralgia, and several other conditions.
