Targeted protein degradation (TPD) has emerged as a prominent and vital strategy for therapeutic intervention of cancers and other diseases. One such approach involves the exploration of proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) for the selective elimination of disease-causing proteins through the innate ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Due to the unprecedented achievements of various PROTAC molecules in clinical trials, researchers have moved towards other physiological protein degradation approaches for the targeted degradation of abnormal proteins, including lysosome-targeting chimeras (LYTACs), autophagy-targeting chimeras (AUTACs), autophagosome-tethering compounds (ATTECs), molecular glue degraders, and other derivatives for their precise mode of action.

Objective: Congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO) is a common lacrimal system anomaly in newborns and infants. We aimed to evaluate the role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of persistent CNLDO and its potential use in diagnosis and follow up, focusing on novel inflammatory biomarkers: Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII), Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), Platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), Red cell distribution width (RDW), and Mean platelet volume (MPV).
Methods: A retrospective case-control study involving 76 CNLDO patients and 47 age-matched healthy controls was conducted.

Social hierarchies exist in all societies and impact cognitive functions, brain mechanisms, social interactions, and behaviors. High status individuals often exhibit enhanced working memory (WM) performance compared to lower status individuals. This study examined whether individual differences in social dominance, as a predictor of future status, relate to WM abilities.

Although the effects of mood and personality traits on memory performance have previously been studied, their relationship to the metamemory and metacognitive processes is still unknown. In this study, we investigated the effects of mood induction (positive and negative) and personality traits (extroverted and neurotics) on metacognitive beliefs, memory confidence, the judgment of learning (JOL) and feeling of knowing (FOK) judgments during face-name recognition tasks. One hundred twenty-seven participants who met the criteria based on their extraverted and neurotic personality scores on the Big Five Personality Inventory were randomly assigned to positive and negative mood induction conditions.

Introduction: The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of vaginal uterosacral plication on urge symptoms and quality of life in a cohort of patients with uterosacral ligament insufficiency and urge symptoms.
Methods: A total of 40 female patients were included in the study, and their posterior fornix was supported with gauze to simulate the surgical procedure. Uterosacral plication was applied to patients who experienced a decrease in urinary incontinence, nocturia, a sense of urgency, and a decrease in urge urinary incontinence symptoms or complete recovery.

Underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs) are fundamental assets to enable discovery and utilization of sub-sea environments and have attracted both academia and industry to execute long-term underwater missions. Given the heightened significance of battery dependency in underwater wireless sensor networks, our objective is to maximize the amount of harvested energy underwater by adopting the TDMA time slot scheduling approach to prolong the operational lifetime of the sensors. In this study, we considered the spatial uncertainty of underwater ambient resources to improve the utilization of available energy and examine a stochastic model for piezoelectric energy harvesting.

Soil salinity, which affects plant photosynthesis mechanisms, significantly limits plant productivity. Soil microorganisms, including cyanobacteria, can synthesize various exometabolites that contribute to plant growth and development in several ways. These microorganisms can increase plant tolerance to salt stress by secreting various phytoprotectants; therefore, it is highly relevant to study soil microorganisms adapted to high salinity and investigate their potential to increase plant resistance to salt stress.

Current treatment approaches cannot exactly regenerate cartilage tissue. Regarding some problems encountered with cell therapy, exosomes are advantageous because of their "cell-free" nature. This study examines the relationship between IL-10 and TGF-β and Canonical Wnt/β-catenin signal pathways in human adipose tissue-derived MSCs exosomes (hAT-MSCs-Exos) after in vitro chondrogenic differentiation.

Cancer is anticipated to become the pioneer reason of disease-related deaths worldwide in the next two decades, underscoring the urgent need for personalized and adaptive treatment strategies. These strategies are crucial due to the high variability in drug efficacy and the tendency of cancer cells to develop resistance. This study investigates the potential of theranostic nanotechnology using three innovative fluorescent polymers (FP-1, FP-2, and FP-3) encapsulated in niosomal carriers, combining therapy (chemotherapy and radiotherapy) with fluorescence imaging.
