Citrus viroid infection is emerging as a serious threat because of its efficient systemic movement within the host plant and its quick spread due to contaminated pruning tools. A survey was conducted to investigate the primary distribution and molecular characterization of (CBLVd) and its variants in different citrus cultivars. A total of 154 symptomatic citrus samples were collected and detected by RT‒PCR with newly designed specific primers with the incidence of 36.

A selective and cost-effective biosensor based on catalase immobilized antimonene quantum dots modified glassy carbon electrode (Cat@AMQDs-GCE) is designed for the first time to determine hydrogen peroxide (HO). Antimonene quantum dots (AMQDs) are synthesized by a single step method, characterized by various analytical techniques and applied to the electrochemical sensing of hydrogen peroxide. Catalase enzyme specific for HO reduction is immobilized onto AMQDs to facilitate its detection by cyclic voltammetry and amperometry.

Objective: To determine the levels of oxidant, antioxidant and serum enzymes in thalassaemic children receiving multiple blood transfusions.
Methods: The case-control study was done from February to August 2012, and comprised thalassaemic children receiving multiple blood transfusions at Allied Hospital, Ali Zeb Foundation, and the Thalassaemia Centre in Hilal-e-Ahmar Hospital, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Healthy subjects were also screened for any related disease condition that could prejudice the results.
