There is evidence that high daily intake of aluminum (Al) is associated with an increased risk of dementia or cognitive decline. We injected L-arginine into the dorsal hippocampus (DH) of an AlCl3-induced Alzheimer's model and studied memory deficit, β-amyloid (βA) accumulation, neurodegeneration, and molecular changes. Male Wistar rats were cannulated unilaterally in the DH under a stereotaxic apparatus and a dose of AlCl3 (1-200 μg/rat) was injected into the CA1.

J Educ Health Promot

November 2020

Department of Physical Therapy, Health Management Research Group, ACECR, Tehran, Iran.

Background: Changing human behavior for the purposes of improving the way people work is an integral part of most educational interventions. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a model based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) on correct principles of manual material handling (MMH) among male soldiers.

Subjects And Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental, pretest-posttest research with a control group.

Background: Prostate cancer is the most common malignant cancer, and after lung cancer, is the second cause of death among all types of cancer in men. This study was done to assess the educational intervention based on the Health Belief Model on the promotion of preventive behaviors of prostate cancer among military men.

Methods: The present study is a semi-experimental study that was conducted on 80 men of a military collection by using randomized-stratified sampling with proportional allocation approach in BandarAbbas in 2017.

Background: Diagnosis of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) at an early stage is a daunting challenge due to the deficiency of specific noninvasive markers. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in the initiation and progression of NSCLC. Measuring miRNA expression levels could provide a potential approach for the diagnosis of NSCLC.

Objectives: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) increases energy expenditure and mechanical energy efficiency. Although both uncoupling proteins (UCPs) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) affect the mechanical efficiency and antioxidant capacity, their effects are inverse. The aim of this study was to determine whether the alterations of cardiac UCP2, UCP3, and eNOS mRNA expression following HIIT are in favor of increased mechanical efficiency or decreased oxidative stress.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on nitric oxide metabolites (NO2(-), NO3(-)) and myocardial infarct size after Ischemia/Reperfusion (I/R) injury in healthy male rats.

Methods: A total of 44 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups including HIIT (n=8), HIIT + IR protocol (n=14), control (n=8), and control + IR (n=14). Each training session of HIIT consisted of 1 hour of exercise in three stages: 6-minute running at 50-60% VO2max for warm-up; 7 intervals of 7-minute running on treadmill with a slope of 5° to 20° (4 minutes with an intensity of 80-100% VO2max and 3 minutes at 50-60% VO2max); and 5-minute running at 50-60% VO2max for cool-down.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate if nitric oxide (NO) in the central amygdala (CeA) is involved in the expression of withdrawal aspects induced by morphine.

Materials And Methods: Male Wistar rats (weighing 200-250 g) were bilaterally cannulated in the CeA and conditioned to morphine using an unbiased paradigm. Morphine (2.

Background: Cisplatin is a potent anticancer drug, but its nephrotoxicity limits the clinical use of it. To reduce the Cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity, various interventions have been implicated. The aim of this study was to examine whether preconditioning with normobaric hyperoxia would prevent Cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in patient with solid tumor.
