This paper describes a flexible strategy to access diethyl ((((-(2-chloroethyl)--nitrososulfamoyl)amino)arylmethyl) phosphonates, as aryl analogues of fotemustine. The new aryl sulfamidophosphonates prepared from 2-chloroethylamine were successfully obtained under eco-environmental conditions using ultrasound irradiation. These compounds did not produce the expected nitroso analogues of fotemustine after the nitrosation reaction but the corresponding sulfamates which were fully characterized.

Due to the complex physical and chemical interactions taking place in the sonicated medium, various methods have been proposed in the literature for a better understanding of the sonochemical system. In the present paper, the performance of calorimetry, iodometry, Fricke, 4-nitrophenol, HO, and ascorbic acid dosimetry techniques have been evaluated over the electric power range from 20 to 80 W (f = 300 kHz). These methods have been analyzed for distilled and seawater in light of the literature findings.

Urban sewer system management is challenging due to its higher vulnerability to flooding caused by rapid urbanization and climate change. For local decision-makers, storm water management is essential for urban planning and development. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to develop a numerical model for the sewerage network of the central catchment area of Algiers since it has experienced frequent overflows during the winter season.

The aim of our study is to evaluate anti-inflammatory effect of Chamaemelum nobile. Aqueous extracts were administrated to Wistar rats in bronchial-inflammation experimentally induced by an allergen and ovalbumin, administered intraperitoneally / intranasally (20mg/kg/day). Experimentation showed disturbances in bronchoalveolar fluid with increased leukocyte and lymphocyte levels as well as IL-4 concentration in the lungs and erythrocytes associated with high lipid peroxidation.

Traditional chemical synthesis, which involves the use of dangerous protocols, hazardous solvents, and toxic products and catalysts, is considered environmentally inappropriate and harmful to human health. Bearing in mind its numerous drawbacks, it has become crucial to substitute conventional chemistry with green chemistry which is safer, more ecofriendly and more effective in terms of time and selectivity. Elaborating synthetic protocols producing interesting new compounds using both microwave heating and heterogeneous non-toxic catalysts is acknowledged as a green approach that avoids many classical chemistry-related problems.

A series of new heteroleptic oxovanadium(IV) complexes with the general formula [VOL(Dcf)] (), where L = thiosemicarbazone (TSC)-based ligands and Dcf = diclofenac have been synthesized and characterized. The spectral studies along with the density functional theory calculations evidenced the distorted square-pyramidal geometry around oxovanadium(IV) ion through imine nitrogen and thione sulfur atoms of TSC moiety, and two asymmetric carboxylate oxygen atoms of diclofenac drug. The complexes were evaluated for antioxidant activity using 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), 2,2'-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), hydrogen peroxide (HO) and superoxide radical scavenging assays with respect to the standard antioxidant drugs butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and rutin.

Ultrasonic systems must be able to produce an acoustic field with the highest possible energy concentration in sonochemical reactors to accomplish maximum efficacy in the sonolytic degradation of water contaminants. In the present study, the impact of cylindrical and conical stainless-steel reflectors placed on the liquid surface on the sonochemical oxidation activity of ultrasonication reactors was investigated. The amount of effective acoustic power transferred to the ultrasonicated medium without and with reflectors was measured by calorimetric characterization of the sono-reactors at diverse ultrasonication frequencies in the interval of 300-800 kHz and different electrical powers in the range of 40-120 W.

Eco-friendly and simple procedure has been developed for the synthesis of αaminophosphonates that act as topoisomerase II α-inhibiting anticancer agent, using 2-hydroxymethyl-18-crown-6 as an unexpected homogeneous organocatalyst in multicomponents reaction of aromatic aldehyde, aniline and diethylphosphite in one pot reaction. This efficient method proceeds with catalytic amount, transition metal-free, at room temperature within short reaction time, giving the αaminophosphonates derivatives in high chemical yields (up to 80%). Theoretical DFT calculations of three compounds and were carried out in a gas phase at CAM-B3LYP 6-31G (d,p) basis set to predict the molecular geometries and chemical reactivity descriptors.

In this paper, we consider a mathematical model of a coronavirus disease involving the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative by dividing the total population into the susceptible population , the vaccinated population , the infected population , the recovered population , and the death class . A core goal of this study is the analysis of the solution of a proposed mathematical model involving nonlinear systems of Caputo-Fabrizio fractional differential equations. With the help of Lipschitz hypotheses, we have built sufficient conditions and inequalities to analyze the solutions to the model.

In the present study, three machine learning methods were applied for predicting seepage flow through embankment dams, namely (i) support vector regression (SVR), relevance vector machine (RVM), and Gaussian process regression (GPR). The three models were developed using seepage flow (Q: L/mn) and piezometer level (Z:m) measured at several piezometers placed in the corps body of the dam. The proposed models were calibrated and validated using a separate subset.

COVID-19 booster vaccines have been adopted in almost all countries to enhance the immune response and combat the emergence of new variants. Algeria adopted this strategy in November 2021. This study was conducted to consider the self-reported side effects of COVID-19 booster vaccines by Algerians who were vaccinated with a booster dose of one of the approved inactivated-virus vaccines, such as BBIBP-CorV and CoronaVac, or one of the adenoviral-vector-based vaccines, such as Gam-COVID-Vac, AZD1222 and Ad26.
