Cognitive Regulation Strategies Used by Children with Reading Difficulties.

Children (Basel)

February 2024

Special Education Department, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Babe-Bolyai University, 400029 Cluj Napoca, Romania.

(1) Background: Children with reading difficulties may experience negative emotions and social isolation. The cognitive emotion regulation strategies that they use in different reading tasks can make them more vulnerable in the stressful situations. Using adaptative emotion regulation strategies may help them overcome stressful reading situations.

The currently unknown phosphorus allotrope P is of interest since its 40 total valence electrons is a "magic number" corresponding to a filled 1S1P1D1S1F2P shell such as found in the relatively stable main group element clusters Al and Ge. However, P still remains as an elusive structure not realized experimentally. The lowest energy P structure by a margin of ∼9 kcal mol is shown by density functional theory to be a cuneane analogue with no PP double bonds and two each of P, P, and P rings.

The genus Tuponia Reuter, 1875 in Romania, with two new synonymies (Heteroptera: Miridae).

Zootaxa

August 2021

Faculty of Biology and Geology, Babe-Bolyai University, Clinicilor Str., No. 5-7, 400015 Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography, West University of Timioara, Pestalozzi Str., No. 16, 300115 Timioara, Romania.

Based on recently collected material and on type specimens deposited in the collections of Muzeul de Istorie Natural Grigore Antipa, Bucharest, Romania, and of the Zoologische Museum, Universitt Hamburg, Germany, the following new synonymies are proposed: Tuponia (Chlorotuponia) prasina (Fieber, 1864) = Tuponia (Chlorotuponia) linnavuorii Wagner, 1961, syn. n.; Tuponia (Tuponia) montandoni Reuter, 1899 = Tuponia (Tuponia) macedonica Wagner, 1957, syn.

As colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the forms of cancer with the highest prevalence globally and with a high mortality, screening and early detection remains a major issue. Colonoscopy is still the gold standard for detecting premalignant lesions, but it is burdened by some complications. For instance, it is laborious, with some difficulties of acceptance for some patients, and is ultimately an imperfect standard, given that some premalignant lesions or incipient malignancies can be missed by colonoscopic evaluation.

The present study explores the situation of migrant carers in long-term care (LTC) in European Union Member States and the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic from a public health perspective. The aim is to bring LTC migrant carers into health workforce research and highlight a need for trans-sectoral and European heath workforce governance. We apply an exploratory approach based on secondary sources, document analysis and expert information.

Thermal spraying is widely used for industrial-scale application of ceramic coatings onto metallic surfaces. The particular process has implications for occupational health, as the high energy process generates high emissions of metal-bearing nanoparticles. Emissions and their impact on exposure were characterized during thermal spraying in a work environment, by monitoring size-resolved number and mass concentrations, lung-deposited surface area, particle morphology, and chemical composition.

In the present work, a procedure to determine three textile azo dyes, chromium-complexes [Nylosan Dark Brown (NDB), Lanasyn Dark Brown (LDB), and Lanasyn Red (LR)], from wastewater using solid-phase extraction (SPE) followed by LC-electrospray ionization negative mode tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI(-)-MS/MS) has been developed. The extraction/concentration and recovery degree of these dyes from liquid matrices were done on Strata WAX/NH2 cartridges. The chromatographic separation was performed using a Luna C18 (2) 100Å column by isocratic elution with a methanol-acetonitrile-water (0.

Mapping the geogenic radon potential in Buzău County is part of a research project aiming to apply research for sustainable development and economic growth following the principles of geoconservation in order to support the 'Buzău Land' UNESCO Geopark initiative. The mapping of geogenic radon will be used as an overview for planning purposes. The main geological formations of the studied area were identified as Cretaceous and Paleogene flysch, included in a thin-skinned nappes pile and consisting of alternating sandstones, marls, clays and, subordinately, conglomerates, all tightly folded or faulted.

In this article the authors report on a small survey of Romanian social workers regarding their attitudes toward evidence-based practice (EBP) and thoughts on the factors affecting its implementation in their clinical work. Eighty social workers were asked to complete a pen-and-paper questionnaire on their attitudes toward EBP, the use of research, and perceived barriers on implementation. Social workers have generally positive attitudes toward EBP.

Knowledge and familiarity of evidence-based practice (EBP) is a key competence to social workers entering the workforce. The literature review revealed no studies on Romanian graduates that have measured the beliefs, attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors students have about EBP in the final semester of their bachelor's of social work (BSW) degree program. A sample of 89 students drawn from one public school in Romania completed the instrument.

Raman, SERS and theoretical studies of papaverine hydrochloride and its neutral species.

Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc

July 2004

Physics Department, Babe-Bolyai University, Kogãlniceanu 1, RO-3400 Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations and an experimental vibrational characterization of papaverine hydrochloride were performed. The computed structural parameters agree very well with the experimental values of the related crystal structure. The pH dependent Raman and SERS spectra of papaverine hydrochloride were recorded and discussed with the assistance of our theoretical results (harmonical vibrational wavenumbers, Raman scattering activities, total electron density and Natural Population Analysis of the molecule) and the SERS surface selection rules.

Suppression of Chaos in a One-dimensional Mapping.

J Biol Phys

March 1997

Department of Theoretical Physics, Babe-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The suppression of chaos in an one-dimensional model of malignant tumor growth is presented. As a result, a steady-state and differentperiodic motions, embedded in the chaotic attractor, arestabilized.
