Background: Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma incidence is increasing, especially among women under 60, largely attributed to human papillomavirus infections. Precursor pre-invasive vulvar lesions are frequently underdiagnosed. Routine vulvar inspection during cervical cancer screening could offer an opportunity for the detection of these lesions.

Laryngopharyngeal Reflux and Upper Airway Obstruction Patterns in Nonobese Sleep Apnea Patients.

Objectives: The study aims to investigate the relationship between the presence of laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and obstruction levels identified during drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) among nonobese patients.

Methods: We conducted a prospective study of 105 adult patients diagnosed with OSA who underwent DISE using propofol sedation from 2019 to 2024 at a tertiary hospital. To control for the confounding impact of obesity on LPR, the study selectively enrolled individuals presenting a body mass index within the normal range.

Colorectal Cancer Screening Participation and Health Belief Levels of Public Hospital Patients in Türkiye.

Colorectal cancer can be diagnosed early with screening tests; therefore, patients' beliefs regarding colorectal cancer screening are closely related to clinical and pathological disease stages at the time of diagnosis. This study aimed to determine participation in colorectal cancer screening programs and health beliefs related to protection from colorectal cancer among patients aged 40-70 years and evaluate factors affecting their participation in such screening programs. This descriptive study was conducted in a state hospital in Türkiye between May 2021 and December 2021 with the participation of 1,016 patients.

Comparison of Bicortical Headless Cannulated Screw Fixations, Tension Band Fixations, and Kirschner Wire Fixations of a Jones Fracture: A Biomechanical Study.

Background: The aim of study was to biomechanically compare the fixation of Jones fracture using headless cannulated screw, tension band, and two Kirschner wires.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effects of kinesiotaping (KT) adjunct to physical therapy (PT) on proprioception, cervical range of motion (ROM), pain, disability, anxiety, depression, and quality of life (QoL) in cervical spondylosis.

Methods: Sixty-nine patients aged 50-70 years were randomized into three groups: PT, PT plus KT(PT+KT), PT plus sham-taping(PT+ST). All participants underwent standardized 15-session PT, 5 days/week.

Factors Affecting Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination Rates in Hemodialysis Patients: A Multicenter Study.

Purpose: In patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), infections, particularly pneumonias, are the most common cause of hospital admissions and death after cardiovascular diseases. It is recommended that dialysis patients receive the pneumococcal vaccine every five years and the influenza vaccine annually. Our study aims to determine the awareness and factors affecting influenza and pneumococcal vaccination rates in hemodialysis patients.

Evaluation of ultrasonography and plethysmography in detecting blood loss and volume replacement in a platelet apheresis model.

Background: Rapid, reproducible, and noninvasive diagnostic methods like Ultrasonography (US) and plethysmographic measurements such as the perfusion index (PI) and pleth variablity index (PVI) have great potential value for emergency trauma cases in which blood loss needs to be recognized quickly and accurately.

Objectives: We planned this study to evaluate the utility of US, PI, and PVI in detecting early-stage hemorrhage and mimicking volume replacement using a platelet apheresis model.

This study attempted to determine what patients ask on Google and ChatGPT and whether ChatGPT and Google provide factual information for patients about arthroscopic meniscus repair. Method A cleanly installed Google Chrome browser and ChatGPT were used to ensure no individual cookies, browsing history, other side data, or sponsored sites.
