A probiotic is a live bacterium that, when given in sufficient proportions, helps to improve the host's gut health. Kimchi and pearl millet, two traditional foods, were used to isolate probiotic bacterial strains. This study's primary goals were to isolate, identify and analyse the microorganisms for potential probiotic traits, tolerance to gastrointestinal environments, and antimicrobial activity, and produce probiotic capsule.

This study addresses the critical challenges faced by global aquatic industries such as overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution, climate change, and unsustainable aquaculture practices. It focuses on developing effective solutions by synthesizing potent inhibitors against Vibrio parahaemolyticus of two strains namely: MTCC-451 (A) and Vp-S14 (B). Biginelli's compounds (B1-4) were identified as promising inhibitors with confirmed antibacterial activity through in silico and in vitro studies.

Colour is crucial for enhancing the appetizing value and consumer acceptance of food products. The commonly used food colourants and food preservatives such as Malachite Green (MG) and Copper Sulfate (CS) can cause severe health problems. This study investigates the toxicity of these food-grade colourants through acute exposure using cytotoxicity using the brine shrimp model including 3D surface analysis (3DSA) and studies Brine shrimp were treated with various concentrations of MG and CS.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) affects millions of people and has limited treatment options, thus making it a global health concern. Amyloid β (Aβ), a disrupted cholinergic system with high acetylcholinesterase (AChE), oxidative stress (OS), reduced antioxidants, and neuroinflammation are key factors influencing AD progression. Prior research has shown that AChE can interact with Aβ and increase its accumulation and neurotoxicity, so targeting AChEs and Aβ could be a potential therapeutic approach for AD treatment.

The global emergence of New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1 (NDM-1) poses a formidable challenge to antibiotic therapy, as it confers resistance to a wide range of β-lactam antibiotics. This study aims to identify potential inhibitors of NDM-1 and thereby restore the effectiveness of the current antibiotics. Employing a comprehensive computational approach integrating molecular docking and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, a library of phytosterols was screened to identify promising candidates for inhibiting NDM-1 activity.

Microplastics are small plastic pieces ranging in size from 1μ to <5 mm in diameter, are water-soluble, and can be either primary as they are initially created in small sizes or secondary as they develop due to plastic degradation. Approximately 360 million tons of plastic are produced globally every year, with only 7% recycled, leaving the majority of waste to accumulate in the environment and pose a serious threat in the form of microplastics. All ecosystems, particularly freshwater ecosystems, experience microplastic accumulation and are also prone to degrading processes.

This study investigates the efficacy of newly synthesized inhibitor with a dual function of corrosion inhibition and biocide for control of microbial influenced corrosion (MIC) in carbon steel API 5LX in the cooling tower water (CTW) environment. Four types of N-substituted tetrabromophthalic inhibitor (N-TBI) were synthesized, and the structural characterization was performed via proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and high-resolution mass spectrometry. These studies revealed the distinctive optical, thermal, and dielectric properties of the synthesized inhibitors.

Biomedical imaging plays a critical role in early detection, precise diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring responses, but traditional methods encounter challenges such as limited sensitivity, specificity, and inability to monitor therapeutic responses due to factors like short circulation half-life and potential toxicity. Nanoparticles are revolutionizing biomedical imaging as contrast agents across modalities like computed tomography (CT), optical, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound, exploiting unique attributes such as those of metal-based, polymeric, and lipid nanoparticles. They shield imaging agents from immune clearance, extending circulation time, and enhancing bioavailability at tumor sites.

Still, it remains a debate after four decades of research on surviving cells, several bacterial species were naturally inducted and found to exist in a viable but non-culturable (VBNC) state, an adaptive strategy executed by most bacterial species under different stressful conditions. VBNC state are generally attributed when the cells lose its culturability on standard culture media, diminish in conventional detection methods, but retaining its viability, virulence and antibiotic resistance over a period of years and may poses a risk to marine animals as well as public health and food safety. In this present review, we mainly focus the VBNC state of Vibrios and other human bacterial pathogens.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus, an important food-borne pathogens found to be associated with seafoods and marine environs. It has been a topic of debate for many decades that most pathogens are known to enter a viable but nonculturable (VBNC) state under cold temperature and nutrient limited conditions. The present study examined the time required for the induction of VBNC state and the revival strategies of both the endemic O3:K6 and O1:K25 sporadic strains of V.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which are constructed using organic-inorganic combination resources, represent an upcoming technology that offers a competitor to silicon-based solar cells. Electron transport materials (ETMs), which are essential to PSCs, are attracting a lot of interest. In this section, we begin by discussing the development of the PSC framework, which would form the foundation for the requirements of the ETM.

Tetrahedral amorphous carbon (taC) is a hydrogen-free carbon with extensive properties such as hardness, optical transparency, and chemical inertness. taC coatings have attracted much attention in recent times, as have coatings doped with a noble metal. A known antimicrobial metal agent, silver (Ag), has been used as a dopant in taC, with different Ag concentrations on the Ti64 coupons using a hybrid filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA) and magnetron sputtering system.

Efficient solid waste management is crucial for urban health and welfare in the midst of fast industrialization and urbanization. In this changing environment, government authorities have a significant role in addressing and reducing the effects of solid waste. While waste separation at the source simplifies processes, manual sorting is a consequence of ignorance in numerous regions, which endangers the health of waste pickers.
