Umbilical lesions in children represent a wide spectrum of congenital or acquired anomalies. Congenital anomalies are mainly because of failed obliteration of the omphalomesenteric duct while acquired pathologies are either because of delayed umbilical cord separation causing umbilical granuloma or result from umbilical stump infection producing omphalitis with persistent discharge. Meckel's diverticulum is considered the most common gastrointestinal congenital anomaly resulting from obliteration failure of the omphalomesenteric duct while umbilical granuloma is a common acquired umbilical lesion seen in daily practice.

The estimated annual incidence of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is approximately 120 cases per 100000 inhabitants in western countries. Although the rates of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of automated external defibrillator are increasing, the likelihood of survival to hospital discharge is no more than 8%. To date, various devices and methods have been utilized in the initial CPR approach targeting to improve survival and neurological outcomes in OHCA patients.

Cardioneuroablation is a rapidly developing procedure for the treatment of vagally mediated bradyarrhythmias. However, the lack of multicenter, randomized trials prevents it from being included in bradyarrhythmia treatment guidelines. So far, only one small, randomized study has been published assessing the effectiveness of this method in the treatment of reflex syncope.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a progressive autoimmune disease leading to structural and functional joint damage and, eventually, to physical disability. The pathogenesis of the disease is highly complex and involves interactions between fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) and immune cells, which stimulate the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors, leading to chronic inflammation. In recent years, studies have demonstrated the importance of epigenetics in RA.

Introduction Atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common cardiac arrhythmia, poses challenges in predicting thromboembolic risk. While the CHADS-VASc (congestive heart failure, hypertension, age ≥ 75 years (doubled), type 2 diabetes mellitus, previous stroke, transient ischemic attack, or thromboembolism (doubled), vascular disease, age 65-74 years, and sex category) score remains essential, its limitations include failure to identify left atrial (LA) thrombus in some patients. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) provides superior detection of LA thrombi and thrombogenic factors compared to transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), improving risk stratification, especially in intermediate-risk groups.
