Although the relationships between brain structure and emotions may alter across the life span, this relationship is of particular importance during aging when significant alterations in emotions may be manifested. Understanding the structural-behavioral relationship could not only provide a neurobiological basis of these changes, but could also suggest potential intervention. Since anxiety is commonly observed in aging population, we undertook this study to determine the extent of this behavioral manifestations as well as the associated ultrastructural changes in the amygdala.

Objective: To study alexithymia in schizophrenia and some somatic diseases.
Material And Methods: The study included 60 patients with paranoid schizophrenia (ICD-10 F20.0), 55 hypertensive patients with primary heart disease (I11), 53 patients with chronic ischemic heart disease (I25) and 51 patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (E10).
Polysplenia is heterotaxy syndrome or bilateral left-sidedness. We report a case of polysplenia syndrome in order to draw attention to this rare syndrome that must be excluded in an infant presenting with congenital heart disease and intestinal malformations.
