Importance of dysregulation and expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) has been confiemed in many disorders comprising cancer. In this way, different approaches to induce reprogramming from one cell type to another in oerder to control the cell normal mechanisem, comprising microRNAs, combinatorial small molecules, exosome-mediated reprogramming, embryonic microenvironment and also lineage-specific transcription agents, are involved in cell situation. Meaningly, besides the above factors, microRNAs are so special and have an impressive role in cell reprogramming.

Drought tolerance is an important quantitative trait with multipart phenotypes that are often further complicated by plant phenology. Different types of environmental stresses, such as high irradiance, high temperatures, nutrient deficiencies, and toxicities, may challenge crops simultaneously; therefore, breeding for drought tolerance is very complicated. Interdisciplinary researchers have been attempting to dissect and comprehend the mechanisms of plant tolerance to drought stress using various methods; however, the limited success of molecular breeding and physiological approaches suggests that we rethink our strategies.

Nanoparticles (NPs) are currently used in diagnosis and treatment of many human diseases, including autoimmune diseases and cancer. However, cytotoxic effects of NPs on normal cells and living organs is a severe limiting factor that hinders their use in clinic. In addition, diversity of NPs and their physico-chemical properties, including particle size, shape, surface area, dispersity and protein corona effects are considered as key factors that have a crucial impact on their safe or toxicological behaviors.

It has not been well explored how NPs may induce some adverse effects on the biological systems. In this research, the interaction of cobalt oxide NPs (CoO NPs) with tau protein and PC-12 cell line, as nervous system models, was investigated with several approaches including fluorescence spectroscopy, CD spectroscopy, docking study, MTT, LDH, AO/EB dual staining, and flow cytometry assays. Fluorescence investigation displayed that CoO NPs spontaneously mediate the formation of a static complex with tau protein through hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces.

There is evidence that rural versus urban residence is a salient factor in predicting parenting practices. In what is most likely the very first video-observation study of parenting ever to come out of Iran, mothers and their 18-60-month-old children were observed for 30 min of free interaction at their homes in urban (n = 11) and rural (n = 15) Iran. None of the mothers made any comments about being filmed, none expressed insecurities about what to do, and only four mothers looked at the camera more than once or twice.

Human exposure to nanoparticles (NPs) is inevitable as NPs become more widely applied and, as a result, nanotoxicology study is now gaining attention. Herein, the interaction of zero valent iron NPs (ZVFe-NPs) with human hemoglobin (Hb) was evaluated using a variety of techniques including fluorescence spectroscopy, far circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy as well as docking study. Also, the cytotoxicity of ZVFe-NPs on the human lymphocyte cell line as a model of blood system cell line was investigated by 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), acridine orange/ethidium bromide (AO/EB) staining, flow cytometry, and real-time PCR assays.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPositron Emission Tomography (PET) is often underutilized in the field of musculoskeletal imaging, with key reasons including the excellent performance of conventional musculoskeletal MRI, the limited spatial resolution of PET, and the lack of reimbursement for PET for non-oncologic musculoskeletal indications. However, with improvements in PET/CT and PET/MR imaging over the last decade as well as an increased understanding of the pathophysiology of musculoskeletal diseases, there is an emerging potential for PET as a primary or complementary modality in the management of rheumatologic and orthopedic patients. Specific advantages of PET include the convenience of whole body imaging in a single session, the relative resilience of the modality in the imaging of metallic implants compared to CT and MRI, the ability to evaluate deep joints not amenable to palpation, and the potential for improved specificity of diagnosis with novel radiopharmaceuticals.

Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs) usually present with symptoms and signs such as pain, mandibular movement, dysfunction, or joint sounds. Botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) is a biologic toxin which inhibits skeletal muscle through hindering the production of acetylcholine in the nerve endings. This toxin is used for the treatment of hyperactivity of lateral pterygoid muscle and TMD symptoms.
