This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of amino acid supplementation on the growth performance of broiler chicks challenged with coccidiosis. Data were collected on authorship, publication year, study sample characteristics and outcomes of interest related to growth performance. Effect sizes were calculated for both overall effects and the individual effects of each amino acid.

Breast cancer (BC) is a global health concern with a growing prevalence. Since BC is a heterogeneous cancer, transcriptome analyzes were carried out on breast tumor tissues relative to their corresponding normal tissues in order to identify gene expression signatures and perform meta-analysis. Five expression profiling by array data sets from breast tumor tissues and non-tumor neighboring tissues were retrieved following a search in the GEO database (GSE70947, GSE70905, GSE10780, GSE29044, and GSE42568).

The present study aimed to investigate the impact of progressive drought stress (100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% of field capacity) on photosynthetic light reactions of tomato plants. The imposed drought caused a gradual reduction in leaf RWC leading to a decline in pigment concentration and growth indices. Significant alteration in the OJIP fluorescence transient curves and the formation of specific fluorescence bands (L, K, J, H, and G) gradually increased as drought severity increased.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) emerge as critical regulators of CD8 + T cell function within the complex tumor microenvironment (TME). This review explores the multifaceted interplay between miRNAs and CD8 + T cells across various cancers. We discuss how specific miRNAs influence CD8 + T cell activation, recruitment, infiltration, and effector function.

Telomerase, an enzyme crucial for maintaining telomere length, plays a critical role in cellular immortality and is overexpressed in most cancers. This ubiquitous presence makes telomerase, and specifically its catalytic subunit, human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy. This review explores the development and application of telomerase-based vaccines, focusing on DNA and peptide-based approaches.

Globally, people widely recognize cancer as one of the most lethal diseases due to its high mortality rates and lack of effective treatment options. Ongoing research into cancer therapies remains a critical area of inquiry, holding significant social relevance. Currently used treatment, such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, often suffers from other problems like damaging side effects, inaccuracy, and the lack of ability to clear tumors.

Background: Among the complex causes of infertility, Recurrent Implantation Failure (RIF) stands out as a challenging condition. Immunological aberrations are closely implicated in RIF, particularly the imbalance between T helper 1 (Th1) and T helper 2 (Th2) cytokines. Interest in harnessing probiotics to enhance fertility outcomes in RIF-affected women is growing.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the role of membrane vesicles (MVs) from the probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus in reducing intestinal inflammation and increasing 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) in the substantia nigra in the 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) rat model of Parkinson's disease (PD).
Methods: Twenty healthy male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 5 per group), including a) control, b) 6-OHDA, c) 6-OHDA+MV, and d) sham groups. PD was induced by bilateral injection of 6-OHDA.
Objective: Traumatic spinal injury (TSI) involves diverse etiologies, posing different risks among patient populations worldwide. Discrepancies in TSI treatment and outcomes between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries highlight the critical necessity for tailored management approaches for this global challenge. This study delves into the presentation, management, and outcomes of TSI in Africa.
