Background: [I]FP-CIT is a well-established radiotracer for the diagnosis of dopaminergic degenerative disorders. The European Normal Control Database of DaTSCAN (ENC-DAT) of healthy controls has provided age and gender-specific reference values for the [I]FP-CIT specific binding ratio (SBR) under optimised protocols for image acquisition and processing. Simpler reconstruction methods, however, are in use in many hospitals, often without implementation of attenuation and scatter corrections.

Background: To describe drug adherence and treatment goals, and to identify the independent predictors of smoking persistence and unsatisfactory lifestyle habits six months after an acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Methods And Results: 11,706 patients with AMI (30% female, mean age 68 years) were enrolled in 163 large-volume coronary care units (CCUs). At six months, drug adherence was ≥90%, while blood pressure (BP) <140/90 mmHg, low density lipoprotein (LDL) <100 mg/dl (in patients on statins), HbA1c <7% (in treated diabetics), and smoking persistence were observed in 74%, 76%, 45%, and 27% of patients, respectively.

Department of Internal Medicine, University of Genoa, Az. Ospedaliera Universitaria San Martino, Largo Rosanna Benzi 2, Genoa, Italy.

Background: Causes of thrombocytopenia (TP) in patients affected by small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) include myelophtysis, immunomediated TP, disseminated intravascular coagulation, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, drug-related TP, and amegakaryocytic TP. However, isolated TP is an exceedingly rare presentation of SCLC.

Case Report: Here, we report on a 78-year-old Caucasian man with SCLC whose only clinic manifestation at the beginning of his clinical course was a diffuse purpuric rash, indeed due to severe isolated TP.
