Background: Pre-eclampsia (PE) is defined as hypertension (blood pressure of 140/90 mm Hg on two occasion 4-6 hour apart or single reading of diastolic blood pressure of >110 mm Hg) and proteinuria developing after 20 weeks of pregnancy up to 6 weeks post partum in previously normotensive, non-proteinuric women. The aim of this study was to determine the neonatal outcome in babies born ofpre-eclamptic patients.

Methods: It is a cross-sectional comparative study and was carried out in department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology unit C of Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad from 1st January 2007 to 30th June 2007.

Nutritional rickets has multiple presentations like skeletal deformities, tetany, hypocalcemic seizures, recurrent diarrhea, dental abnormalities, developmental delay and floppiness. Here a rare presentation of nutritional rickets is reported in five months old baby who had respiratory distress since two months and signs of respiratory distress resolved after start of vitamin-D supplementation.

Background: Satisfactory surgical correction of temporomandibular joint ankylosis (TMA) is limited by a high recurrence rate, particularly in patients who underwent surgery without use of interpositional material. The present study describes our experience of Interpositional Gap Arthroplasty in patients presenting with primary or recurrent TMA.

Background: The present study was undertaken to derive an index of depression in patients with chronic non-specific musculoskeletal pain and to determine correlation between these two parameters.

Method: The study was carried out at the Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore from November 2001 to May 2002 and included 36 patients with pain for at least 4-24 weeks duration; an equal number of healthy people acted as controls. Depression was assessed among subjects by administering the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) to patients and controls and obtaining their GHQ scores.
