MicroRNAs are short non-coding RNAs that inhibit gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Abnormal microRNA expression has been associated with different human diseases, including cancer. Epigenetic changes, mutation, transcriptional deregulation, DNA copy number abnormalities, and defects in the biogenesis machinery play an important role in abnormal microRNA expression.

To enhance the efficiency of composting agricultural organic waste (AOW), this study aimed to examine the impact of inoculating tomato straw compost with two distinct microbial agents: ZymoZone (ZZ), a composite microbial agent derived from the straw compost and Effective Microorganisms (EM), a commercial microbial agent. Furthermore, in order to reactivate the microorganisms within the compost during the initial high temperature phase, 10% brown sugar was introduced as a carbon source. The objective of this addition was to assess its influence on the composting process.

A series of four copper(II) μ-Alkoxo-μ-carboxylato double bridged complexes, [{Cu(L)}][(μ-OC-CO] , [{Cu(L)}(μ-OC-(CH)CO] , [{Cu(L)}(μ-OC-CH-CO] and [{Cu(L)}(μ-OC-CH-CO] (HL = 4-bromo-2-((E)-((3-(((E)-5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene) amino)-2-hydroxypropyl) imino) methyl)-6-methoxyphenol and μ-dicarboxylate ions = oxalate, malonate, succinate and terephthalate) have been synthesized and characterized using several physicochemical techniques. The tridentate nature of HL is interpreted from IR spectra. The Epr spectra of these complexes are characteristic of the quintet state (S = 2) in central features and the triplet state (S = 1) of these tetranuclear complexes.

Role of HAMP Genetic Variants on Pathophysiology of Iron Deficiency Anemia.

Indian J Clin Biochem

October 2018

Centre for Biotechnology Studies, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa, M.P. 486003 India.

Hepcidin is a 25-amino acid peptide hormone produced by hepatocytes and plays a key role in body iron metabolism. Hepcidin deficiency is the cause of iron overload in hereditary hemochromatosis, iron-loading anemia, and its excess is associated with anemia of inflammation, chronic disease and iron deficiency anemia (IDA). The aims of this study was to evaluate gene mutation, namely IVS2 + 1(-G) (c.

Normal iron levels are required to prevent thrombocytosis by inhibiting thrombopoiesis. Thrombocytosis is usually associated with a mild iron deficiency and is the result of a lack of inhibition of thrombopoiesis. Study participants were 430 iron deficiency anemia (IDA) patients.

Infection with Aphanomyces invadans, also known as epizootic ulcerative syndrome, is a destructive disease of freshwater and brackishwater fishes. Although more than 130 species of fish have been confirmed to be susceptible to this disease, some of the commercially important fish species like common carp, milk fish and tilapia are reported to be resistant. Species that are naturally resistant to a particular disease, provide a potential model to study the mechanisms of resistance against that disease.

Three novel luminescent piano-stool arene ruthenium complexes of general formula [(eta(6)-arene)RuCl(2)(CPI)] (eta(6)-arene = benzene, 1, p-cymene, 2, and hexamethylbenzene, 3; CPI=1-(4-cyanophenyl)imidazole were prepared. The molecular structures of 2 and 3 were determined crystallographically. Reaction of 1-3 with EPh(3) (E = P, As, or Sb) and N-N donor bases such as 2,2'-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline afforded cationic mononuclear complexes of general formula [(eta(6)-arene)RuCl(CPI)(EPh(3))](+) (eta(6)-arene = C(6)H(6), E = P (1a), E = As (1b), E = Sb(1c); eta(6)-arene = C(10)H(14), E = P (2a), E = As (2b), E = Sb (2c); eta(6)-arene = C(6)Me(6), E = P (3a), E = As (3b), E = Sb (3c)) and [(eta(6)-arene)Ru(N-N)(CPI)](2+) (eta(6)-arene = C(6)H(6), N-N = bipy (1d), N-N = phen (1e); eta(6)-arene = C(10)H(14), N-N = bipy (2d), N-N = phen (2e); eta(6)-arene = C(6)Me(6), N-N = bipy (3d), N-N = phen (3e)).
