Introduction: The impact of common measures to assess sarcoidosis have not been compared longitudinally to outcomes that are meaningful to patients. We prospectively examined the relationship of baseline measurements of sarcoidosis status to outcomes of interest to patients longitudinally over 6 months.

Methods: Sarcoidosis patients cared for at 6 US medical centers were "phenotyped" at baseline with measurements of pulmonary function, organ involvement, health related quality of life (HRQoL) instruments, and their anti-sarcoidosis treatment history.

Introduction: Cervical dystonia is the most frequent form of isolated focal dystonia. It is often associated with a dysfunction in brain networks, mostly affecting the basal ganglia, the cerebellum, and the somatosensory cortex. However, it is unclear if such a dysfunction is somato-specific to the brain areas containing the representation of the affected body part, and may thereby account for the focal expression of cervical dystonia.

Background: Smoothened (SMO) inhibitors, blocking the sonic hedgehog pathway, have been approved for advanced basal cell carcinoma (aBCC). Safety analyses reveal a high rate of adverse events (AEs) and, most of the time, vismodegib is most commonly stopped when the best overall response is reached. The long-term evolution of aBCC after vismodegib discontinuation is poorly described.

The efficacy of the B-cell-depleting agent rituximab has been reported in immune diseases but relapses are frequent, suggesting the need for repeated infusions. The B-cell activating factor (BAFF) is an important factor for B cell survival, class switch recombination and selection of autoreactive B cells, as well as maintaining long-lived plasma cells. It has been hypothesized that relapses after rituximab might be due to the increase of serum BAFF levels.

Background: Working in the ICU during the first COVID-19 wave was associated with high levels of mental health disorders.

Research Question: What are the mental health symptoms in health care providers (HCPs) facing the second wave?

Study Design And Methods: A cross-sectional study (October 30-December 1, 2020) was conducted in 16 ICUs during the second wave in France. HCPs completed the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (for post-traumatic stress disorder), and the Maslach Burnout Inventory.

Background: Natriuretic peptides have broad indications during heart failure and the detection of left ventricular dysfunction in high-risk patients. They can also be used for the diagnosis/management of other cardiac diseases. However, very little is known regarding their use in routine practice.

Endobronchial Seeding of Squamous Lung Carcinoma with Mediastinal Lymph Involvement Node after EBUS: A Case Report.

In locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), mediastinal staging is the cornerstone of the therapeutic decision and echoendoscopy is the most practiced exam to assess the lymph node involvement. We describe a rare case of endobronchial involvement by cells originating from a metastatic lymph node after endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). A 64-year-old man was diagnosed with a squamous cell lung cancer with mediastinal nodal involvement proven by EBUS.

Expectations about treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: Comparative survey of patients, carers and physicians (the RESPIR French survey).

Context: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a severe chronic disease during which anxiety and depression are frequent comorbidities. Better knowledge of patients' expectations is needed to inform an action plan to improve medical care.

Purpose Of Review: The goal of this paper is to provide an up-to-date review of adverse events related to the class of integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs), which became the class of choice in few years. We sought answers specifically to issues pertaining to neuropsychiatric adverse events, as well as weight gain, which were the two most important categories of adverse events raised in recent studies based on real-life experience. The primary focus of this paper is on adults with a brief summary on pregnant women and children/adolescents.

Introduction: Cerebral metabolism in obsessive-compulsive-disorder(OCD) has been the subject of numerous studies using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MRS). Despite heterogeneous results, some studies have unraveled membrane turnover and energy metabolism abnormalities in different brain regions, suggesting that alterations in these processes may contribute to the pathophysiology. So far, no authors have explored phospholipids and high-energy phosphate metabolism using P-MRS, which allows in vivo quantification of phosphorus metabolites that are considered to be related to membrane turnover and energy metabolism.

Multiple biomarkers measurement to estimate the duration of atrial fibrillation.

Background: An accurate estimation of the duration of atrial fibrillation is critical for its safe management. Recent studies suggested that copeptin, carbohydrate antigen-125, galectin-3 and growth differentiation factor-15 are increased in atrial fibrillation. We examined the ability of these markers to identify patients presenting with atrial fibrillation of ≤48 versus >48 h duration.

Prospective study on a fast-track training in psychiatry for medical students: the psychiatric hat game.

Background: While medical students are losing interest in lectures in favor of other educational materials, many studies suggest the benefit of active learning, combined with gamified educational tools. The authors developed a psychiatric adaptation of the « Hat Game ». It was hypothesised that this game would increase both knowledge and motivation in medical students toward psychiatric semiology.

Effect of Prophylactic Embolization on Patients With Blunt Trauma at High Risk of Splenectomy: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Importance: Splenic arterial embolization (SAE) improves the rate of spleen rescue, yet the advantage of prophylactic SAE (pSAE) compared with surveillance and then embolization only if necessary (SURV) for patients at high risk of spleen rupture remains controversial.

Objective: To determine whether the 1-month spleen salvage rate is better after pSAE or SURV.

Design, Setting, And Participants: In this randomized clinical trial conducted between February 6, 2014, and September 1, 2017, at 16 institutions in France, 133 patients with splenic trauma at high risk of rupture were randomized to undergo pSAE or SURV.
