Wallenberg syndrome, also known as lateral medullary syndrome, is a rare condition affecting the vertebrobasilar circulation, causing symptoms such as vertigo, nystagmus, dysarthria, and hemifacial weakness. Typically linked to ischemic strokes, it can also arise from vertebrobasilar aneurysms. In rare cases, subclavian steal syndrome (SSS), involving retrograde flow in the vertebral artery due to subclavian stenosis, complicates the picture, as observed in this case of a 66-year-old woman with both conditions and a vertebrobasilar aneurysm.

This manuscript describes a novel methodology for studying relaxation dynamics in tissues and cells using characteristic frequency of bioimpedance spectroscopy measurements. The Bioimpedance Formalism allows for the simultaneous study of bioelectrical parameters in the frequency and time domains, providing insight into possible relaxation processes occurring in the tissue or cell of interest. Results from the Cole-Cole analysis showed no multiple relaxation processes associated with heterogeneity, with a visible age group separation in males compared with females.

Background: There are numerous procedures in which, beyond adequate manipulation of the temporalis muscle and cranial closure, patients may present bone and muscle defects due to atrophy and consequent facial asymmetry, causing psychological discomfort and functional deterioration. The objective of our work is to combine the knowledge of plastic surgery and apply it to cranial reconstructions with fat transfers in post-neurosurgical patients, analyzing its results.
Methods: During the year 2022, 45 fat transfer procedures were performed for the correction of craniofacial defects, of which 29 were female and 16 were male.

The increasing detection of (PCV3, family ) in clinically ill pigs worldwide has raised concerns on the implications of the virus on porcine health and the pork industry. Although pork production constitutes an important component of the livestock economy and is a major source of animal protein in the Caribbean Islands, there are no reports on PCV3 in pigs from the region so far. In the present study, PCV3 was detected in 21% (21/100) of diarrheic pigs (sampled at three farms) from the Caribbean nation of the Dominican Republic (DR).

Background: The sciatic nerve (SN) is the widest nerve of the human body that exits the pelvis through the greater sciatic foramen, usually below the piriformis muscle (PM), and descends between the greater trochanter of the femur and ischial tuberosity of the pelvis to the knee. The aim of this paper is to examine and identify the SN variations in relation to the PM, its prevalence, pattern, and course.
Methods: A prospective-descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the frequency of anatomical variations in the exit of the SN in relation with the PM in 20 anatomical bodies (corpses) of both genders, in equal numbers.
