Kidney transplantation is the best treatment option for patients with end-stage renal disease owing to improved survival and quality of life compared with dialysis. The surgical approach to kidney transplantation has been somewhat stagnant in the past 50 years, with the open approach being the only available option. In this scenario, evidence of reduced surgery-related morbidity after the introduction of robotics into several surgical fields has induced surgeons to consider robot-assisted kidney transplantation (RAKT) as an alternative approach to these fragile and immunocompromised patients.

Background: Targeted therapies and immunotherapy are currently considered the mainstay first-line treatment for advanced BRAF-mutated melanoma. However, the impact of treatment (targeted therapy and immunotherapy) and the prognostic factors are still not clear.
Material And Methods: Medical records of 140 patients diagnosed with advanced melanoma between 2011 and 2021 were retrospectively reviewed to extract demographic, BRAF status, treatment, performance status, and survival data.

Standardized training programs for open (OKT) and robot-assisted kidney transplantation (RAKT) remain unmet clinical needs. To fill this gap, we designed a modified Delphi Consensus aiming to propose the first structured surgical curricula for both OKT and RAKT, involving a multispecialty international panel of experts. Two web-based surveys were built drafting two separate series of statements (for OKT and RAKT, respectively).

Context: Thulium fiber laser (TFL) emerged as a competitor of holmium:yttrium aluminum garnet (Ho:YAG) laser for the treatment of urinary stones.
Objective: To compare the efficacy between Ho:YAG and TFL for laser lithotripsy of renal and ureteral stones.
Evidence Acquisition: A literature search was conducted using PubMed/Medline, Embase, and Web of Science databases to identify reports published until May 2023.
Purpose: To access the current scenario of robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy training in multiple centers worldwide.
Methods: We created a multiple-choice questionnaire assessing all details of robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy training with 41 questions divided into three different categories (responder demography, surgical steps, and responder experience). The questionnaire was created and disseminated using the "Google Docs" platform.

The laparoscopic approach represents the standard of treatment for renal and adrenal diseases, and its use is increasing even outside referral centres. Although most procedures are routinely performed, intraoperative complications do not occur, and the rate and predictive factors of these complications have not been established. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence and type of intraoperative complications and to identify predictive factors in patients undergoing laparoscopic renal and adrenal surgery.

Objectives: To identify the predictive factors of prostate cancer extracapsular extension (ECE) in an institutional cohort of patients who underwent multiparametric MRI of the prostate prior to radical prostatectomy (RP).
Patients And Methods: Overall, 126 patients met the selection criteria, and their medical records were retrospectively collected and analysed; 2 experienced radiologists reviewed the imaging studies. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the variables associated to ECE at whole-mount histology of RP specimens; according to the statistically significant variables associated, a predictive model was developed and calibrated with the Hosmer-Lomeshow test.

Purpose: This study aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of combining the Preserflo™ MicroShunt implant (MicroShunt) with a simultaneous Ologen™ implant in patients with glaucoma.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study on consecutive patients with medically uncontrolled glaucoma who underwent MicroShunt + Ologen implantation as a standalone procedure or in combination with phacoemulsification (combined procedure). Success was defined as achieving an intraocular pressure (IOP) of 6-15 mmHg at 18 months post surgery, with a preoperative IOP reduction of at least 20%, and without (complete success) or with (qualified success) the need for antiglaucoma medications.

Purpose: Salvage robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (S-RARP) has gained prominence in recent years for treating patients with cancer recurrence following non-surgical treatments of Prostate Cancer. We conducted a systematic literature review to evaluate the role and outcomes of S-RARP over the past decade.
Material And Methods: A systematic review was conducted, encompassing articles published between January 1st, 2013, and June 1st, 2023, on S-RARP outcomes.

Background: Preclinical studies have shown that the sympathetic nervous system is involved in the development of metastases, suggesting a potential antitumor effect of beta-blockers. These findings sparked a controversy over the past decade regarding the direction of the association between beta-blocker use and prostate cancer (PCa) mortality. To investigate this association, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Context: It is unclear whether a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-targeted transperineal (TP) biopsy can improve the detection of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa).
Objective: To compare the MRI-targeted TP and transrectal (TR) approaches for csPCa detection.
Evidence Acquisition: A literature search was conducted using the PubMed/Medline, Embase, and Web of Science databases to identify reports published until February 2023.

Purpose: To learn about the history and development of en bloc resection of bladder tumour (ERBT), and to discuss its future directions in managing bladder cancer.
Methods: In this narrative review, we summarised the history and early development of ERBT, previous attempts in overcoming the tumour size limitation, consolidative effort in standardising the ERBT procedure, emerging evidence in ERBT, evolving concepts in treating large bladder tumours, and the future directions of ERBT.
Results: Since the first report on ERBT in 1980, there has been tremendous advancement in terms of its technique, energy modalities and tumour retrieval methods.

Introduction: To determine associations between prostate cancer (PCa) tumor burden measured on biopsy or multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) and outcomes in intermediate-risk (IR) International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grade 2 men managed with primary radical prostatectomy (RP).
Methods: This retrospective, multicenter study was conducted in eight referral centers. The cohort included IR PCa patients who had ISUP 2 at biopsy.

Many patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) outside of the low-risk criteria may possess low absolute risks of distant progression. Herein, we hypothesized that careful selection of high-risk patients undergoing an endoscopic approach could result in acceptable oncologic outcomes. Patients with high-risk UTUC managed endoscopically between 2015 and 2021 were retrospectively identified from a prospectively maintained single academic institution database.

Purpose Of Review: Kidney transplantation in low-weight recipients (<15 kg) is a challenging surgery with special characteristics. We proposed to perform a systematic review to determine the postoperative complication rate and the type of complications after kidney transplantation in low-weight recipients (<15 kg). The secondary objectives were to determine graft survival, functional outcomes, and patient survival after kidney transplantation in low-weight recipients.

Objective: To assess the oncologic outcomes and the safety profile of a reduced-dose versus full-dose BCG regimen in patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).
Material And Methods: We performed a systematic review according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases were searched in January 2022 for studies that analyzed oncological outcomes and compared between reduced- and full-dose BCG regimens.
