Reducing Quotation Errors in Scientific Manuscripts: A Novel Approach from the Global Andrology Forum.

Purpose: This study investigated 1) the frequency of quotation errors in multi-authored medical manuscripts in andrology, 2) analyzed common types of quotation errors and the methods used to rectify them, and 3) evaluated their impact on manuscript accuracy, credibility, and research conclusions.

Materials And Methods: Twelve manuscripts written by the Global Andrology Forum (GAF) members between 2023 and 2024 were randomly selected for this study. The manuscripts and "Quotation Verification Sheets" were analyzed by senior GAF researchers to detect the number and types of quotation errors.

This limits our ability to link the film structures to their properties, restricting their commercial use. While X-ray micro-computed tomography (μCT) is a powerful technique to map the structure of traditional and commercial paper, there has been limited success in its application for CNF films due to the poor contrast between pores and material, making the reconstructed images difficult to segment and analyse.

Socioeconomic position across the life course and falls among middle- and older-aged adults: protocol for a systematic review.

Introduction: Individuals experiencing disadvantaged socioeconomic positions (SEPs) may be at increased risk of falls during middle and older age, and these impacts of socioeconomic factors may vary according to the duration, timing and sequencing of exposures across the life course. However, there has not been a recent systematic review of this evidence. This study, therefore, aims to synthesise existing knowledge on the association between SEP across the life course and falls within middle- and older-aged adults.

Global comparison of the economic costs of coronary heart disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objectives: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of global morbidity and mortality, yet no comprehensive evaluation of its global economic costs exists. We conducted a systematic review with meta-analysis to examine the costs of CHD treatment by region and CHD subtypes, examine whether there are cost difference by sex, and examine costing methodologies.

Veno-venous ECMO intervention for respiratory failure after trauma from a motor vehicle collision.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has emerged as a salvage therapy in refractory respiratory failure. Within the literature, there is evidence to support the use of ECMO in severe thoracic trauma; however, there is minimal information on its applicability in mild to moderate thoracic trauma. This report describes a man in his 50s who suffered thoracic trauma following a motor vehicle accident, who, despite maximal medical therapy, experienced deterioration in respiratory function, requiring the commencement of veno-venous ECMO on day 5 post injury and subsequently achieved excellent functional recovery.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare head and neck cancer; even more infrequently, it presents as a primary lesion at other sites. Due to ACC's usual pattern of perineural and perivascular spread, it often manifests in delayed local recurrence and distant metastases. Metastasis to the kidney is very rare with as few as 15 cases reported in the literature.

Background: Globally, adult Indigenous people, including Aboriginal Australians, have a high burden of chronic respiratory disorders, and bronchiectasis is no exception. However, literature detailing bronchiectasis disease characteristics among adult Indigenous people is sparse. This study assessed the clinical profile of bronchiectasis among adult Aboriginal Australians and compared against previously published international bronchiectasis registry reports.
