A novel mechanism for -heteroaryl C-H functionalization via dearomative addition-hydrogen autotransfer is described. Upon exposure to the catalyst derived from RuHCl(CO)(PPh) and Xantphos, dienes - suffer hydroruthenation to form allylruthenium nucleophiles that engage in -heteroaryl addition-β-hydride elimination to furnish branched products of C-C coupling - and -. Oxidative cleavage of isoprene adducts , , , and followed by ruthenium-catalyzed dynamic kinetic asymmetric ketone reduction provides enantiomerically enriched -heteroarylethyl alcohols - and, therefrom, -heteroarylethyl amines -.

The literature on nursing leadership tends to be mainly based on Western perspectives and models, which could be viewed as an imperialistic and colonialist aspect of nursing knowledge development. Furthermore, leadership competencies and skills could differ across countries due to variations in cultural backgrounds. The purpose of this discussion paper is to identify essential competencies of leaders from Asian nurse leaders' perspectives and provide suggestions for future nursing leadership.

ConspectusLight-driven polymerizations and their application in 3D printing have revolutionized manufacturing across diverse sectors, from healthcare to fine arts. Despite the popularized notion that with 3D printing "imagination is the only limit", we and others in the scientific community have identified fundamental hurdles that restrict our capabilities in this space. Herein, we describe the group's efforts in developing photochemical systems that respond to nontraditional colors of light to elicit the rapid, spatiotemporally controlled formation of plastics.

Despite significant advances in targeted therapies and immunotherapies, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) continues to present a global health challenge, with a modest five-year survival rate of 28 %, largely due to the emergence of treatment-resistant and metastatic tumors. In response, we synthesized a novel bioactive compound, ethyl 6-chlorocoumarin-3-carboxylyl L-theanine (TClC), which significantly inhibited NSCLC growth, epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT), migration, and invasion and tumor growth and metastasis without inducing toxicity. TClC disrupts autocrine loops that promote tumor progression, particularly in stem-like CD133-positive NSCLC (CD133+ LC) cells, which are pivotal in tumor metastasis.

Further, it is unclear how social support affects depressive symptoms differently when considering the moderating role of education. Using the National Survey of American Life (NSAL) (n = 3,278), we examined (1) the association between educational attainment and depressive symptoms, (2) the association between social support and depressive symptoms, and (3) whether education moderates the social support-depressive symptoms relationship among African Americans.

Background: Vertebrogenic pain is a documented source of anterior column chronic low back pain (CLBP) that stems from damaged vertebral endplates. Nociceptive signals are transmitted by the basivertebral nerve (BVN) and endplate damage is observed as Type 1 or Type 2 Modic changes (MC) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The clinical impact and safety of intraosseous radiofrequency ablation of the BVN (BVNA) for the treatment of vertebrogenic pain has been demonstrated in three prospective clinical trials (two randomized and one single-arm study).

Significant genetic differentiation between Symbiodiniaceae populations in coral hosts can be induced by a range of factors including geography, latitude, depth, temperature and light utilisation. The conventional method of measuring Symbiodiniaceae diversity involving the ITS2 region of rDNA has several limitations, stemming from insufficient genetic resolution and the multi-copy nature of the marker. This could be improved by using higher throughput whole genome sequencing to identify fine-scale population genetic differences and provide new insight into factors influencing coral-Symbiodiniaceae associations.

Technological innovations in genomics and related fields have facilitated large sequencing efforts, supported new biological discoveries in cancer, and spawned an era of liquid biopsy biomarkers. Despite these advances, precision oncology has practical constraints, partly related to cancer's biological diversity and spatial and temporal complexity. Advanced imaging technologies are being developed to address some of the current limitations in early detection, treatment selection and planning, drug delivery, and therapeutic response, as well as difficulties posed by drug resistance, drug toxicity, disease monitoring, and metastatic evolution.

Synthetic illicit drugs, such as nitazenes and fentanyls, are becoming commonplace in countries around the world, including in Europe, Australia, and Latin America, which raises concern for overdose crises like those seen in North America. An important dimension of the risk represented by synthetic drugs is the fact that they are increasingly packaged in counterfeit pill form. These pills-often indistinguishable from authentic pharmaceuticals-have substantially widened the scope of populations susceptible to synthetic drug overdose in North America (eg, among adolescents experimenting with pills or tourists from the USA seeking psychoactive medications from pharmacies in Mexico).
