Recently, we discovered the recurrent genomic rearrangement [t(4;9)(q13;q31)] enabling upregulation of the transcription factor Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 4 Group A Member 3 (NR4A3) through enhancer hijacking as the oncogenic driver event in acinic cell carcinoma (AciCC) of the salivary glands. In the current study, we evaluated the usefulness of NR4A3 immunostaining and NR4A3 fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in the differential diagnosis of AciCC, comparing a total of 64 AciCCs including 17% cases with high-grade transformation, 29 secretory (mammary analog) carcinomas (MASC), and 70 other salivary gland carcinomas. Nuclear NR4A3 immunostaining was a highly specific (100%) and sensitive (98%) marker for AciCC with only 1 negative case, whereas NR4A3 FISH was less sensitive (84%).

Background: Joint data analysis from multiple nutrition studies may improve the ability to answer complex questions regarding the role of nutritional status and diet in health and disease.
Objective: The objective was to identify nutritional observational studies from partners participating in the European Nutritional Phenotype Assessment and Data Sharing Initiative (ENPADASI) Consortium, as well as minimal requirements for joint data analysis.
Methods: A predefined template containing information on study design, exposure measurements (dietary intake, alcohol and tobacco consumption, physical activity, sedentary behavior, anthropometric measures, and sociodemographic and health status), main health-related outcomes, and laboratory measurements (traditional and omics biomarkers) was developed and circulated to those European research groups participating in the ENPADASI under the strategic research area of "diet-related chronic diseases.

Fat-containing lesions of the thyroid are rare, encompassing several clinical-pathological conditions such adenolipomas, thyrolipomatosis and lipomotous tissue in case of amyloidosis. Furthermore, cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma have been identified in association with thyrolipomatosis. We report a case of 51 years old man referred to surgery for a multinodular goiter, showing multiple cystic and hemorrhagic nodules of up to 3 cm.

Background: Microparticles are known to be increased in various malignancies. In this prospective study, microparticle levels were evaluated in patients with benign and malignant ovarian lesions.
Patients And Methods: Microparticles from platelets/megakaryocytes, activated platelets and endothelial cells, tissue factor exposing microparticles and D-dimer values were examined in patients with newly diagnosed ovarian lesions before surgery, and were correlated with tumor histology.

Unlabelled: This study is a retrospective analysis of 124 differentiated thyroid cancer patients who underwent dosimetric evaluation using MIRD methodology over a period of 15 y. The objectives of the study were to demonstrate the clinical use of dosimetry-guided radioactive iodine ([RAI] (131)I) treatment and the safe and effective application of a 3-Gy bone marrow (BM) dose in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer.
Methods: Tumor and BM dose estimates were obtained.
