Objectives: To identify, critically appraise and evaluate the performance measures of the available prediction models for outcomes in people with low back pain (LBP) receiving conservative treatment.
Study Design And Setting: In this systematic review, literature searches were conducted in Embase, Medline, and cumulative index of nursing and allied health literature from their inception until February 2024. Studies containing follow-up assessment (eg, prospective cohort studies, registry-based studies) investigating prediction models of outcomes (eg, pain intensity and disability) for people with LBP receiving conservative treatment were included.

Background: Established equations to predict peak oxygen uptake (VOmax) in healthy subjects are not directly applicable to patient populations, including people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). PwMS, who commonly exhibit impaired cardiorespiratory and neuromuscular function, often require tailored predictive models. This study aimed at (1) testing the validity, reliability, and accuracy of four widely used formulae, developed in healthy populations, to estimate VOmax in mildly to moderately disabled women with MS, and (2) develop adjusted formulae tailored on MS features.

Background: During the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Japan's health insurance system allowed continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) telephone consultations to extend clinic visit intervals. This study aimed to determine whether 6-month CPAP adherence in the telemedicine (TM) group was inferior to that in the standard care group.
Methods: Patients receiving long-term CPAP therapy for at least 6 months for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) from two clinics in Japan were recruited between May and July 2020.

Purpose: To compare the clinical results of the arthroscopic foveal repair of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) for distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) instability in patients with or without generalized joint laxity.
Methods: Patients who underwent arthroscopic transosseous foveal TFCC repair of Palmer 1B foveal TFCC tears (Atzei classification class II or III) from January 2018 to October 2021 were identified. Patients treated for symptomatic DRUJ instability for more than 3 months, and with at least 2 years of follow-up, were included.

This scoping review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of frailty in multiple sclerosis (MS), building upon the increasing number of studies that have recently begun to explore the potential impact of this age-related condition on the lives of people with MS (pwMS). A systematic search was conducted on PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Ovid MEDLINE, CINAHL, CENTRAL, Web of Science, PEDRO, and clinicaltrials.gov.

Individuals with spinal cord injuries have a higher incidence of chronic conditions such as hypertension and cardiovascular diseases due to a sedentary lifestyle and low levels of physical activity caused by their disability. Additionally, their physical fitness levels are lower compared to those without disabilities. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the relationship between hypertension and the fitness of individuals with spinal cord injuries in South Korea while considering differences across sexes and spinal cord injury levels.

Purpose: The Work Rehabilitation Questionnaire (WORQ) assesses patient functioning, including psychological, physical, and cognitive limitations. This study evaluates the WORQ domains in individuals with persistent low back pain (LBP), focusing on reliability and construct validity.
Methods: Individuals aged 18-65 with LBP completed WORQ and the workability index single item.

Introduction: There is limited evidence that the psychological characteristics of athletes with disabilities are identical to those of non-disabled athletes, owing to differences in ecological traits, and there is insufficient information on how athletes with disabilities perceive disabled athletes' perception of errors, challenges, and deliberate practice. Therefore, it is necessary to examine whether the causal model of the perception of errors, challenge, and deliberate practice will be reproduced in the same way as in non-disabled athletes. Therefore, this study aimed to verify a causal model of the perception of errors, challenges, and deliberate practice by athletes with disabilities.

Objective: This study aims to systematically evaluate the burden of low back pain(LBP) in the middle-aged population across global regions and between genders, assess the major risk factors and their impacts, and project the burden to 2050, providing a scientific basis for global preventive actions.
Methods: This study utilized The Global Burden of Disease(GBD) 2021 database. First, we integrated the population data of the 45-49, 50-54, and 55-59 age groups provided by the GBD using a weighted average method to calculate the Disability-adjusted life years(DALYs) rate for the middle-aged population aged 45 to 59 years.

Background: Early surgical management of full-thickness traumatic rotator cuff tears (RCTs) may optimize functional outcomes, prioritizing timely diagnoses. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are highly sensitive and specific modalities for RCT diagnosis, yet MRI remains the gold standard diagnostic tool despite increased costs and potential delays in care. Ultrasound can provide same-day diagnosis, thus possibly expediting care.

Background: CNSLBP accounts for 85% of all LBP cases and impairs physical health, quality of life, and work productivity, posing a significant health and economic burden. Baduanjin (BDJ) exercises are traditional Chinese Qi Gong mind-body exercises that have been practiced for over 1,000 years. However, the standard BDJ protocol established by the State Sports General Administration does not stimulate core muscles, limiting the effectiveness of low back pain rehabilitation.

Aims: Low cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is associated with functional disability, heart failure and mortality. Left ventricular (LV) end-diastolic volume (LVEDV) has been linked with CRF, but its utility as a diagnostic marker of low CRF has not been tested.
Methods: This multi-center international cohort examined the relationship between LV size on echocardiography and CRF (peak oxygen uptake [peak VO2] from cardiopulmonary exercise testing) in individuals with LV ejection fraction ≥50%.
