Purpose: The present study investigates the diagnostic efficiency of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in differentiating between malignant and benign cavitary lesions on diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI).
Materials And Methods: This prospective study included 45 consecutive patients identified with a cavitary lung lesion with a wall thickness of ≥5 mm on thoracic computed tomography in our clinic between 2020 and 2022, and who underwent thoracic DWI within 1 week of their original computed tomography. ADC measurements were made on DWI by drawing a region of interest manually from the cavity wall, away from the lung parenchyma in the axial section where the lesion was best demonstrated.

Behcet's disease is a chronic vasculitis of unknown etiopathogenesis. Serum vitamin D levels have been reported to be associated with a variety of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases one of which is Behcet's disease. The previous studies about vitamin D in Behcet's disease seem to be focused on 4 main categories; the studies evaluating serum vitamin D levels between patients with Behcet's disease and controls, the studies evaluating serum vitamin D in the susceptibility and pathogenesis of Behcet's disease, the studies evaluating serum vitamin D in clinical involvements and activity of Behcet's disease, and the studies evaluating the effect of serum vitamin D replacement in Behcet's disease.

Chronic burn pain persists for 6 months or longer after the wound has healed, affecting the patient's quality of life and daily activities. Pharmacological treatments are essential in the treatment of chronic pain after burns, but interventional methods come to the fore in cases where there is no response to pharmacological treatments. Radiofrequency ablation is known as a safe, effective, and minimally invasive treatment for patients with intractable chronic pain.

The study aims to investigate the prevalence and patterns of substance use among medical students and to examine associated psychiatric symptoms. It has been observed that depression and psychoticism scores have a significant effect on smoking, and interpersonal sensitivity-hostility-paranoid ideation scores have a significant effect on drinking. It has been shown that interpersonal sensitivity and depression scores are more predictive of mono-and poly-substance use.

Osteoma is common in the temporal bone but extremely rare in the middle ear cavity and incus. Computed tomography plays an important role in the diagnosis of this slow growing benign osseous mass. The treatment of this lesion, which usually causes conductive type hearing loss, includes follow-up and surgery according to the patient's condition.

Carcinosarcoma ex pleomorphic adenoma (CCPA), also known as true mixed malignant tumor, is an extremely rare high-grade aggressive tumor. The histopathologic examination is the gold standard for diagnosis and radiologic imaging also plays an important role. CCPA should be considered in the differential diagnosis of salivary gland tumors when there are findings suggestive of malignancy such as necrosis and diffusion limitation on imaging.

One of the biggest challenges faced by pain physicians is that cancer patients present with unrelieved pain despite multimodal drug regimes. Regional anesthesia methods and indwelling catheters become significant when pain control cannot be achieved with these regimens. Ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane (ESP) block has provided analgesia for acute postoperative and chronic cancer pain.

Purpose: GOLD 2019 proposed a novel treatment decision tool for follow-up based on the predominant trait (exacerbation or dyspnea) of patients, alongside treatment escalation and de-escalation strategies. This study was designed to provide an up-to-date snapshot of patient and disease characteristics, treatment pathways, and healthcare resource use (HRU) in COPD in real life, and comprehensively examine patients considering GOLD 2019 recommendations.
Patients And Methods: This mixed design, observational, multicenter (14 pulmonology clinics) study included all patients with a documented COPD diagnosis (excluding asthma-COPD overlap [ACO]) for ≥12 months, aged ≥40 years at diagnosis who had a COPD-related hospital visit, spirometry test and blood eosinophil count (BEC) measurement under stable conditions within the 12 months before enrollment between February and December 2020.

Background: Acute pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality that can reduce quality of life due to long-term complications during and after treatment discontinuation.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate patients for these complications before discontinuing treatment and determine the necessity of computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) imaging.
Methods: This retrospective study included 116 patients over the age of 18 who received anticoagulant treatment for at least 3 months and presented for treatment discontinuation to the Atatürk University Research Hospital Chest Diseases Outpatient Clinic between January 2015 and September 2019.
