The management and treatment of long bone defects are challenging clinical problems. In this study, in order to address the need for load bearing segmental defects, 3D printed cylindrical implants of poly(-caprolactone) (PCL) and nanohydroxyapatite (nHAp) composites were prepared and applied as lateral segments to the femurs of New Zealand white rabbits. The results obtained after 6 weeks of implantation were compared with the autografts.

Objective: Numerous studies have been conducted investigating the effects of antiseizure medications (ASMs) on cognitive functions, and the cognitive side effects of some ASMs have been demonstrated. However, data on whether tolerance to these side effects develops over time is insufficient. The aim of this study is to evaluate the reversibility of cognitive impairments caused by ASMs in patients, utilizing event-related potentials (ERPs) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test.

The present study introduces the Persian Sentence Reading (PSR) Corpus, aiming to expand empirical data for Persian, an under-investigated language in research on oculomotor control in reading. Reading research has largely focused on Latin script languages with a left-to-right reading direction. However, languages with different reading directions, such as right-to-left and top-to-bottom, and particularly Persian script-based languages like Farsi and Dari, have remained understudied.

Purpose Of Review: Although there are a lot of studies examining the effects of different blocks for postoperative analgesia after video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), the results are controversial.
Recent Findings: Paravertebral block, serratus anterior plane block and erector spinae plane block appear to be effective and beneficial for post-VATS analgesia, but probably in different manners.
Summary: All three blocks can be suggested for daily practice, the choice should be based on personal experience and preference of the anesthetist.

Background And Aim: Tongue base reduction surgery is the only minimally invasive technique that can be performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure, especially to treat obstructive sleep apnea caused by hypopharyngeal obstruction. Studies reported that various devices could be used for tongue base reduction, but comparisons of these methods are limited in the literature. Our study aimed to compare the histological effects of tongue base reduction methods performed with the Celon radiofrequency, monopolar cautery, Coblator, and Sutter devices on the tissue.

Accumulating evidence from clinical trials, large registries, and meta-analyses of population studies shows that increased Blood Pressure Variability (BPV) is predictive of Cardiovascular (CV) outcomes, independently of the average Blood Pressure (BP) values. One of the mechanisms explaining the relationship between BPV and target organ damage is the inflammatory response. The Systemic Immune Inflammation Index (SII), which relies on peripheral blood cell counts, including platelets, neutrophils, and lymphocytes, has emerged as a predictor of prognosis and outcomes in various diseases.

Background: While high-frequency oscillations (HFOs) and their stereotyped clusters (sHFOs) have emerged as potential neuro-biomarkers for the rapid localization of the seizure onset zone (SOZ) in epilepsy, their clinical application is hindered by the challenge of automated elimination of pseudo-HFOs originating from artifacts in heavily corrupted intraoperative neural recordings. This limitation has led to a reliance on semi-automated detectors, coupled with manual visual artifact rejection, impeding the translation of findings into clinical practice.
Methods: In response, we have developed a computational framework that integrates sparse signal processing and ensemble learning to automatically detect genuine HFOs of intracranial EEG data.
