Objectives: Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is a potentially life-threatening condition characterized by the sudden blockage of the pulmonary arteries. Although the MAGGIC risk score has emerged as a valuable tool in predicting outcomes in patients with chronic heart failure, it has also been demonstrated and identified as a prognostic model in various cardiac diseases other than heart failure. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between MAGGIC score and adverse outcomes in patients with PE.

Background: Correct TIMI frame count (CTFC), myocardial blush grade (MBG), and ST-segment resolution (STR) are parameters used to evaluate reperfusion at the microvascular level in patients that have undergone primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (FAR) has been associated with thrombotic events in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and chronic venous insufficiency.
Objectives: To investigate the relationship of FAR with CTFC, MBG, and STR.
Background: The diagnosis of acute myocarditis is usually made with clinical and laboratory parameters. This can sometimes be mixed up with diseases that have similar clinical features, making the diagnosis difficult. Therefore, the use of more specific biomarkers, in addition to the classically used biomarkers such as troponin, will accelerate the diagnosis.

To investigate the role of systemic inflammation index (SII), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume (MPV), mean platelet volume to platelet ratio (MPR), and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte and platelet ratio (NLPR) in determining the severity of COVID-19 patients.

Aim High sensitive troponin (hs-TnI) levels may increase secondary to Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19), and this increase is associated with cardiovascular mortality in COVID-19 patients. Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) is associated with myocardial injury directly as a reservoir tissue for coronavirus, and indirectly through mediators it secretes as an apocrine gland. We aimed to evaluate the relationship between myocardial injury secondary to COVID-19 infection and EAT thickness.

Aim: The relationship between arrhythmia induction and ablation with palpitation characteristics has been demonstrated in electrophysiological study (EPS) patients. However, there is insufficient data on palpitation characteristics and their sensitivity and specificity. We aimed to identify the relationship between scoring composed of palpitation characteristics with the supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) induction and the success rate of the procedure.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the protective effect of adrenomedullin (ADM) on cerebral tissue of rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury.
Methods: Thirty-two Wistar rats were randomized into four groups (n=8). In the I/R Group, bilateral common carotid arteries were clamped for 30 minutes and, subsequently, reperfused for 120 minutes.

Objective: To investigate the predictive value of preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for long-term major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE), which have not yet been well described, in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
Methods: The records of 751 consecutive patients who underwent elective CABG between January 2008 and January 2010 were retrospectively enrolled and stratified according to quartiles of preoperative NLR. At 7.

Objective: Ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm (ATAA), seen in adults, is an important cause of morbidity and mortality. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the levels of mean platelet volume (MPV), mean platelet volume-to-platelet count ratio (MPVPCR), mean platelet volume-to-lymphocyte ratio (MPVLR), and red cell distribution width platelet count ratio (RDWPCR) in patients with thoracic aortic aneurysm.
Methods: 105 patients admitted to the emergency department were diagnosed with thoracic aortic aneurysm between January and December 2014, and 100 healthy individuals were involved in this retrospective study.
Background: Pathophysiology and prognosis are not clearly determined in patients with the coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP). These patients present with various clinical conditions ranging from being asymptomatic to being admitted with sudden cardiac death.
Objectives: We aimed at assessing the findings of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) as an indicator of myocardial fibrosis.

Background Little is known about the achievement of low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets in patients at cardiovascular risk receiving stable lipid-lowering therapy (LLT) in countries outside Western Europe. Methods This cross-sectional observational study was conducted in 452 centres (August 2015-August 2016) in 18 countries in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Patients ( n = 9049) treated for ≥3 months with any LLT and in whom an LDL-C measurement on stable LLT was available within the previous 12 months were included.

However, no study has investigated the significance of single lead fQRS (sl-fQRS) in surface electrocardiography (ECG).
Objectives: To evaluate whether sl-fQRS is as valuable as classical fQRS in patients with acute STEMI who had successful revascularization with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI).

To evaluate the relationship between the adiponectin levels and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) in uncomplicated obese subjects. Fifty-nine subjects were assigned to the obese (BMI> or =30 kg/m(2)) and 58 to the lean (BMI<30 kg/m (2) ) group. Plasma glucose, insulin, serum total cholesterol and high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, triglycerides and adiponectin were measured.
