Background: The use of video examinations (VE) may improve patient care by offering them a low-cost and easy access to physicians, save traveling expenses and shorten waiting time. The aim of this study was to validate the use of Smartphones for distant assessment of shoulder function by comparing the Constant scores (CS) of patients obtained by both VE and conventional face-to-face (FTF) examination.
Methods: Fifty-one subjects (age 19-80 years; women:men 18:33) who presented to a shoulder clinic with a variety of complaints were prospectively recruited and underwent FTF and VE in alternating order.

Prominent conservative treatment options for medial-compartment knee osteoarthritis include footwear that reduces knee adduction moment (KAM) correlated with detrimental loads in the medial compartment of the knee, thus providing clinical benefit. The proposed mechanism by which they reduce KAM is a lateral shift in foot center of pressure (COP) and a consequent shortening of the knee lever arm (KLA), thereby reducing KAM, which can be simply calculated as KLA multiplied by the frontal plane ground reaction force (FP-GRF). The present study investigated this mechanism for a unique biomechanical device capable of shifting COP by means of moveable convex elements attached to the shoe.

Background: Spinal hypotension causes decreased regional cerebral oxygen saturation (ScO) in women undergoing cesarean delivery. In this study we aimed to measure the change in ScO using near infrared spectroscopy in women receiving a prophylactic phenylephrine infusion during cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia.
Methods: This was a prospective, observational cohort study.

Aims: To compare the maternal and newborn outcome between cases that underwent conservative surgery with uterine preservation (Group A) to cesarean hysterectomy (Group B).
Background: Placenta accreta defines abnormally adherent and invasive placentation into the myometrium and in some cases invades adjacent organs. In recent years the incidence of placenta accreta cases has risen due to the increasing prevalence of cesarean delivery.

The role of HIV-specific CD8 T cell activity in the course of HIV infection and the way it affects the virus that resides in the latent reservoir resting memory cells is debated. The PBMC of HIV-infected patients contain HIV-specific CD8 T cells and their potential targets, CD4 T cells latently infected by HIV. CD4 T cells and CD8 T cells procured from PBMC of HIV-infected patients were co-incubated and analyzed: Formation of CD8 T cells and HIV-infected CD4 T cell conjugates and apoptosis of these CD4 T cells were observed by fluorescence microscopy with PCR of HIV LTR DNA.

Aim: To evaluate abdominal fat distribution (subcutaneous adipose tissue [SAT] and visceral adipose tissue [VAT]) in two enthesopathy-related diseases with known correlation to metabolic syndrome (MS): diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) compared with controls.
Materials And Methods: Abdominal computed tomography (CT) examinations of 43 DISH (Resnick radiographic criteria) patients, 31 AS (Modified New York Criteria) patients and 42 age- and gender-matched (to DISH) controls (males: 29; 29; 27 and mean age: 71.7±7; 56.
