Garra dohjei, a new labeonine fish with transverse lobe and incipient proboscis is described from the Ñiangdai, a tributary of the Brahmaputra River, Meghalaya, India. The new species is distinguished from its congeners with transverse lobe and incipient proboscis, in having a well-developed transverse lobe with around 9-12 minute tubercles, deep transverse groove between transverse lobe and incipient proboscis, black spot immediately anterior to upper angle of gill opening, 5-6 dark black stripes on caudal peduncle, 33-35 lateral line scales, 9-10 predorsal scales, 16-circumpeduncular scales, 15 branched pectoral-fin rays, and total vertebrae 33.

Background: Forage sorghum is a highly valued crop in livestock feed production due to its versatility, adaptability, high productivity, and resilience under adverse environmental conditions, making it a crucial option for sustainable forage production. This study aimed to investigate ninety-five forage sorghum genotypes and identify the marker - trait associations (MTAs) in adaptive traits, including yield and flowering through genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

Results: Using 41,854 polymorphic SNPs, a GWAS involving the GLM, MLM, and FarmCPU models was performed to analyse fourteen adaptive traits.

Despite the inherent stability-enhancing benefits of dπ-pπ conjugation-induced aromaticity, metallaaromatic catalysts remain underutilized in this context, despite their reactivity with organic functionalities in stoichiometric reactions. We present a strategy for synthesizing a diverse range of iridaheteroaromatics, (L^L)Ir(Cp*)I, including iridapyridylidene-indole, iridapyridene-indole, and iridaimidazole, via in situ deprotonation/metalation reactions utilizing [Cp*IrCl] and the respective ligands. These catalysts exhibit enhanced σ-donor and π-acceptor properties, intrinsic σ-π continuum attributes, and versatile binding sites, contributing to stability through enhanced dπ-pπ conjugation-induced aromaticity.

Considering the risk of toxic organic compounds to both human health and the environment, highly luminescent Eu-incorporated amino-functionalized zirconium metal-organic frameworks, namely, Eu/MOF and Eu@MOF were synthesized via the solvothermal method. The synthesized luminescent europium-incorporated MOFs act as outstanding sensor materials for diphenylamine and dinitrobenzene detection in water and fruit samples. The synergistic effect of Eu metal ions and amino-functionalized MOFs enhances the luminescent properties of the MOFs improving the fluorescence sensing ability toward the analytes.

A new species of Cyrtodactylus is described from Vairengte town, situated in the Kolasib District of Mizoram State, north-eastern India. The new species is found to be a member of Indo-Burman Cyrtodactylus khasiensis clade based on ND2 gene sequences and morphological parameters, such as number of precloacal pores, mid-ventral scale rows, paravertebral tubercles on the trunk, dorsal tubercle rows, subdigital lamellae on pes and subcaudal scalation, making it the sixth endemic Cyrtodactylus from Mizoram and twenty second from north-east India. Moreover, phylogenetic evidence suggests the new species to be sister to the recently described C.

Scrub typhus is one of the most neglected tropical diseases, a leading cause of acute undifferentiated febrile illness in areas of the 'tsutsugamushi triangle', diagnosed frequently in South Asian countries. The bacteria Orientia tsutsugamushi is the causative agent of the disease, which enters the human body through the bite of trombiculid mites (also known as chiggers) of the genus Leptotrombidium deliense. Diagnosis of the disease is challenging, as its early symptoms mimic other febrile illnesses like dengue, influenza and corona viruses.
