Background: Validation of protective associations of the lupus low disease activity state (LLDAS) against flare, irreversible damage, health-related quality of life, and mortality has enabled the adoption of treat-to-target strategies in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Previous validation studies were of short duration, limiting the ability to detect longer term signals in flare rate and irreversible damage. In addition, previous studies have focused on percent time at target, rather than actual periods of time that are more useful in clinical practice and trials.

Background And Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the stone-free status (SFS) rate and complications after flexible ureteroscopy (fURS) for treatment of renal stones using a flexible and navigable suction (FANS) ureteral access sheath.
Methods: Data for adults undergoing fURS in 25 centers worldwide were prospectively collected (August 2023 to January 2024). Exclusion criteria were abnormal renal anatomy and ureteral stones.

Background: Feedback is a crucial element in learning. While studies in the field of healthcare professions education have highlighted the process of educators feeding back to learners, relatively little investigation exists on learners feeding back to educators in Asian cultures. Studies show that recipients of effective feedback develop educational skills and reflective practice, but the process of giving feedback seems to have been mainly studied through surveys and questionnaires.

Purpose: To assess the incidence of the most common intra- and early postoperative complications following RIRS in a large series of patients with kidney stones.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with kidney stones who underwent RIRS across 21 centers from January 2018 to August 2021, as part of the Global Multicenter Flexible Ureteroscopy Outcome (FLEXOR) Registry.
Results: Among 6669 patients undergoing RIRS, 4.

Purpose: To assess management and outcomes of bladder neck stenosis (BNS) post-transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in 12 centers.
Patients And Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent transurethral BN incision for stenosis following TURP from January 2015 and January 2023 was performed. Inclusion criteria included endoscopic diagnosis of BNS associated with obstruction and/or lower urinary tract symptoms.

Background: Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) and autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD) are major genetic polycystic kidney diseases that can progress to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD). Longitudinal data on the clinical characteristics associated with clinical outcomes in polycystic kidney disease (PKD), including the development of ESKD and cardiovascular disease (CVD) are lacking in Japan. To address this unmet need the authors are establishing a novel, web-based, Nationwide Cohort Registry Study-the Japanese Registry of PKD (JRP).

The clinical implications of serum anti-PLA2R with glomerular PLA2R deposits in primary membranous nephropathy (PMN) is scarcely reported. Hence the study was designed to demonstrate the prevalence of serum anti-PLA2R levels and PLA2R staining in glomeruli in PMN and the clinical implications of the two parameters. Investigate the prevalence of anti PLA2R positivity in PMN.

Key Points: A multiancestry proteome-wide Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted for IgA nephropathy. The findings from the study would help prioritize new drug targets and drug-repurposing opportunities.
Background: The therapeutic options for IgA nephropathy are rapidly evolving, but early diagnosis and targeted treatment remain challenging.

Posttransplant thrombotic microangiopathy (PT-TMA) can be caused by calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs), ischemic injury, infections, or antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR). Delayed recognition can result in allograft loss. We describe the first reported case of successful reversal of refractory PT-TMA with eculizumab in India.

Background: Evidence for the long-term use of antiplatelet drugs to prevent hepatic vascular complications (HVC) is scarce in liver transplantation (LT).
Methods: From national claim data, LT recipients (about 80 % of living donor LT [LDLT]) without graft loss, HVC, or cardiovascular events within 1 year, were classified into those who took antiplatelets for ≥1 year (n = 1744) and for <1 year (n = 1975). Outcomes were compared after the 1-postoperative year index time point.

In Africa, the burden of hypertension has been rising at an alarming rate for the last two decades and is a major cause for cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and morbidity. Hypertension is characterised by elevated blood pressure (BP) ≥ 140/90 mmHg. Current hypertension guidelines recommend the use of antihypertensives belonging to the following classes: calcium channel blockers (CCB), angiotensin converting inhibitors (ACEI), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB), diuretics, -blockers, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs), to manage hypertension.

Background/objectives: We investigated whether dietary interventions, i.e. a fasting mimicking diet (FMD, Prolon®) or glycocalyx mimetic supplementation (Endocalyx) could stabilize microvascular function in Surinamese South-Asian patients with type 2 diabetes (SA-T2DM) in the Netherlands, a patient population more prone to develop vascular complications.
