Publication rates of podium presentations at the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) annual meetings.

Objectives: Our study aimed to determine the publication rates of podium presentations from the 2017 and 2018 Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) Annual Meetings; and to examine rates and predictors of oral presentations that resulted in publication.

Methods: We reviewed podium presentations given at the 2017 and 2018 SGO Annual Meetings. Abstracts were evaluated for publication from January 1, 2017 to March 30, 2020 and January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021, respectively, to allow for a 3 year period of publication.

Intraoperative Radiation Therapy for Gastrointestinal Malignancies.

Despite improvements in definitive therapy, many patients with gastrointestinal malignancies experience local recurrences or have unresectable disease making subsequent management often challenging and morbid. Although higher doses of radiation may offer improved local control, the ability for dose escalation of external beam radiation therapy is often limited by adjacent radiosensitive structures. Intraoperative radiation therapy allows for additional radiotherapy to be delivered directly to the tumor or areas at highest risk for local recurrence while minimizing toxicity to adjacent structures, offering potentially improved outcomes for patients with unresectable disease or those with a high risk of local recurrence.

Predictive Value of MUC5AC Signature in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma: A Hypothesis Based on Preclinical Evidence.

Mucin 5AC (MUC5AC) glycoprotein plays a crucial role in carcinogenesis and drug sensitivity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), both individually and in combination with other mucins. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a promising behavioral intervention for improving parent and adult caregiver (PAC) health behavior for obesity and cancer prevention. This study explored the preliminary effects of MI from a registered dietitian (RDMI) within an obesity prevention intervention to promote PAC behavior change and positive proxy effects on children and the home environment. N = 36 PAC/child dyads from low-resource communities were enrolled in a randomized trial testing a 10-week obesity prevention intervention.

Long-term, persistent cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is the most common side effect reported by lymphoma survivors. CRF reduces quality of life, and treatments are limited. This pilot study aimed to determine feasibility of recruiting and retaining diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) survivors in a 12-week remote Fatigue Reduction Diet (FRD) intervention and evaluate preliminary efficacy of the intervention.

Associations between Relationship Status, Anxiety, Sexual Function, and Sexual Satisfaction in Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual People.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to describe associations between relationship status, anxiety, and sexual function and satisfaction in lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) adults.

Methods: Linear regression determined associations between sexual function, relationship characteristics and anxiety in 979 LGB participants.

Introduction: The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (The James) uses daily subcutaneous filgrastim as the inpatient granulocyte colony-stimulating factor of choice. The coordination of care associated with filgrastim can often be a barrier to patient discharge.
