Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a prevalent condition causing significant pain and functional impairment. Acupuncture has shown promise as an adjunctive therapy, but conventional manual selection of acupoints lacks standardization. The Acugraph system provides a computerized method for identifying acupoints, potentially enhancing treatment precision.

Objectives: This study examined the correlation between circulating receptor activator for nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) levels and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and investigated the association between polymorphisms in the RANKL gene and susceptibility to RA.
Method: We searched the Medline, Embase, and Cochrane databases for relevant publications up to September 2024. A meta-analysis was conducted to assess serum/plasma RANKL levels in patients with RA and controls, and to explore the relationship between RANKL rs9533156 and rs2277438 polymorphisms and RA susceptibility.

Introduction: Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) septic arthritis is a rare frequently misdiagnosed condition with non-specific symptoms. We present our experience of thirteen cases of TMJ septic arthritis and perform a systematic review of the literature to collate the multiple characteristics of this condition.
Material And Method: A total of 133 cases of TMJ septic arthritis in humans across 62 studies were analyzed by searching PubMed, Cochrane Library, DOAJ and ClinicalTrials.

The etiology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is multifaceted. One of the hypothesized pathways that results in the progression of RA is regulatory T cell (Treg) dysfunction. The pro-osteoclastogenic and immunogenic characteristics of microribonucleic acid (microRNA)-21 (miR-21) suggest its role in RA progression.

Introduction: Extraarticular deformity (EAD) with knee arthritis is a complex condition involving tri-planar bone deformity with pathological malalignment and chronic soft tissue contracture or laxity in the knee joint. Intraarticular correction by TKA, which was previously performed with conventional manual jig by mechanical alignment technique, had its limits and difficulties especially extensive soft tissue release and risk of jeopardizing the collateral ligaments. Robotic technology allows for reproducible and precise execution of surgical plan and allows adjustment to various new personalised alignment philosophy including functional alignment (FA).

Recently, avacopan has been approved for the treatment of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV). Avacopan is an inhibitor of the C5a-receptor, which plays an important role in chemotaxis and the amplification loop of inflammation in AAV. In the most recent, international guidelines avacopan is recommended as steroid-sparing agents for the management of AAV.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin with a suppurative-cicatricial outcome affecting the infundibular component of the pilo-sebaceous unit. The lesions are typically localized in the intertriginous and apocrine gland-rich areas. Hidradenitis suppurativa mainly affects patients at a young age and is very often refractory to conventional medical treatment.

Our previous study highlighted the anticancer potential of sea hare hydrolysate (SHH), particularly its role in regulating macrophage polarization and inducing pyroptotic death in lung cancer cells through the inhibition of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). These findings prompted us to investigate additional features of immune-oncology (I-O) agents or adjuvants, such as programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1)/programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibition and their association with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) risk, to explore the potential of SHH as an I-O agent or adjuvant. In this study, we investigated the effects of SHH on PD-L1 levels in various cancer cell types and assessed its effectiveness in treating RA, a common side effect of I-O agents.

Adventitious bursitis is an inflammatory condition affecting bursae. Distinct from primary or infectious bursitis, adventitious bursitis typically develops secondary to conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or repetitive joint overuse. The resulting inflammation can lead to pain, swelling, and restricted mobility, significantly impacting patients' quality of life.

Acute coronary syndrome is the leading cause of death worldwide, with the highest rates occurring in low-income global regions. This is possibly due to increasing levels of urbanization, which are accompanied by changes in diet and lifestyle, the most common risk factors for coronary artery disease (CAD). Risk factors for CAD are divided into traditional and non-traditional risk factors.

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare dermatosis characterised by necrotic ulcers with a predilection mainly for the lower legs. We report a case of a 67-year-old man with PG and severe ankle ankylosis complicated by rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treated with anti-tumor necrosis factor, adalimumab (ADA). He was referred to our hospital because his right ankle showed severe ulcers and blackening.

Further, the relative contribution of such non-genetic elements in identical twins have not been characterized. Here, we aimed to measure differentiating host and microbial biomarkers of RA by studying MZ twins discordant for disease using a multi-omics approach.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease with destructive arthritis as its main clinical manifestation, which is a major cause of disability. It is very important to formulate and update a guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of RA that adhere to international guideline development standards and can be applied to clinical practice in China. This guideline is endorsed and developed by the National Clinical Research Center for Dermatologic and Immunologic Diseases, collaborated with Rheumatologists Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Rheumatology Rehabilitation Branch of Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Rheumatology Branch of Chinese Research Hospital Association, and Rheumatology Branch of Beijing Association of Holistic Integrative Medicine, based on grading of recommendations assessment, development and evaluation (GRADE) and reporting items for practice guidelines in healthcare (RIGHT).

Background And Objectives: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are autoimmune chronic inflammatory disorders of undetermined cause. Uveitis is one of the commonest and most dangerous extra-articular manifestations of JIA and RA presenting chronic anterior uveitis with non-specific biomarkers for its early detection. We evaluated the role of serum 14-3-3 Eta protein to assess its potential role as a novel biomarker for the early detection of uveitis in Egyptian JIA and RA patients as well as its correlation with disease activity.

Autoimmune diseases arise from immune system dysfunction that immune cells mistakenly attack the body's own tissues, resulting in systemic disorders or localized lesions such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Autoreactive B cells play a critical role in the pathogenesis of many autoimmune diseases and B cell depletion using anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody (mAb) has been shown to effectively mitigate disease progression in both preclinical and clinical studies. Recently, bispecific antibody (bsAb) targeting CD20/CD3 have demonstrated substantial clinical benefits in the treatment of various hematologic malignancies.

Leprosy can present with symptoms resembling rheumatoid arthritis, leading to delays in diagnosis or inappropriate treatment, potentially progressing to lepromatous forms, neuropathy, and disability. Physicians must consider leprosy as a differential for rheumatoid arthritis, especially in endemic regions. Early detection is vital to prevent chronic neuropathy, disabilities, and disfigurement.
