Transoral odontoidectomy followed by occipitocervical fixation is a widely used approach to relieve ventral compressions at the craniovertebral junction. Despite the large amount of literature on this approach and its complications, odontoid process regeneration and causing the worsening of symptoms of brainstem dysfunction and upper cervical cord were not found in the English literature. We report the case of odontoid regeneration in a 12-year-old girl.

Introduction: In last few years, several studies have revealed the remarkable stability of extracellular microRNAs (miRNAs) circulating in the blood or excreted in the urine and underscored their key importance as biomarkers of certain diseases. Since miRNA in urinary sediment is relatively stable and easily quantified, it has the potential to be developed as a biomarker for disease diagnosis and monitoring. Identification of serum and urinary levels of certain miRNAs may assist in the diagnosis and assessment of disease activity in patients with nephrotic syndrome (NS).

Meningitis is a common and life-threatening infection of the central nervous system (CNS) in infants with long-term and disabling sequelae like hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is treated by diverting cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) either to another body cavity (via CSF shunt) or externally (via CSF drain) which are prone to infection. Though rare, () is a known pathogen in device-associated CNS infections and has been reported in both, infants and adults.

Purpose: Dose received by organs at risk (OAR) in high-dose-rate (HDR) intracavitary brachytherapy (ICBT) for locally advanced cervical cancer impacts the late toxicity profile of the treatment. In the present study, we analyzed the inter-fraction variations of the minimum dose received by the most irradiated 2cc volumes (D) of the OARs in ICBT.
Methods And Materials: This prospective study included 40 patients with cervical cancer stage FIGO IIB-IVA treated with HDR ICBT and concomitant chemoradiotherapy with Computerized tomography (CT)- based three-dimensional planning.

The objective of this study was to determine whether [F]-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) scan could predict the pathological response in esophageal carcinoma after surgery in patients receiving neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiation (NACCRT) and neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). A randomized prospective study was carried out from March 2014 to October 2016; thirty patients of histopathologically proven, locally advanced, potentially operable carcinoma esophagus comprising both squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma were randomized into NACCRT and NACT arms equally. Both groups had pretreatment FDG-PET-computed tomography (CT) scan and repeat scan after 5-6 weeks of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT).

Background: Fronto-Temporo-Orbito-Zygomatic (FTOZ) craniotomy has progressed from its humble beginnings. Numerous variations including one piece, two piece and even three piece FTOZ craniotomies have been described. The ideal technique still remains elusive and its use remains restricted to a few specialised centres even when benefits far outweigh the surgical difficulties.
