Utility of 18-Flurodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography ( FDG PET-CT) in Gallbladder Cancer: Experience from a Tertiary Care Hospital.

 Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is one of the most common and aggressive malignancies of the Indo-Gangetic plains. Despite its widespread use in GBC cases, the role of 18-flurodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography ( FDG PET-CT) in the management of this disease is not well defined. In our study, we present the practice trends of the utilization of this investigative modality in our hospital and its benefits in aiding diagnosis, staging, and surveillance for recurrence.

Management of surgically inoperable muscle-invasive bladder cancer in a resource constraint setting at a tertiary care center by bladder preservation protocol: Case series.

Introduction: Urinary bladder cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. As per the data from the US cancer registry, it was diagnosed in nearly 71,000 patients and led to 14000 deaths in 2013. The Indian data in this regard are lacking with few case reports and epidemiological data only.

Aberrant promoter hypermethylation regulates thrombomodulin in high altitude induced deep vein thrombosis.

Background: DNA methylation regulates gene expression by inhibiting transcription factor binding to promoter and regulatory regions. Acute hypoxia during altitude exposure is associated with decreased natural anticoagulants and morbid thrombotic events. Thrombomodulin (TM) is a high affinity thrombin binding receptor protein, vital for vascular homeostasis.

Survival Outcomes of Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma at a Tertiary Care Center in North India (IMAGe: 001A Study).

Purpose: The outcomes of patients with myeloma from developing countries are often lacking because of poor record maintenance. Publications from such settings are also limited because of the retrospective nature of the data collection. Information technology can bridge these gaps in developing countries with real-time data maintenance.

Assessing safety of leadless pacemaker (MICRA) at various implantation sites and its impact on paced QRS in Indian population.

Background: In this study we report our experience in implanting MICRA TPS (transcatheter pacing system) at various RV sites; observing its safety, and impact on paced QRS in Indian population.

Material & Methods: 35 patients with MICRA TPS deployed from March 2017 to December 2019 at Army Hospital Research and Referral, New Delhi, at RVOT, apical septum and mid septum of RV were enrolled in the study. These patents were followed up and impact of implantation site, procedure related complications, change in pacing parameters, left ventricular ejection fraction and duration of paced QRS were monitored.

Management of primary pulmonary alveolar proteinosis: A multicentric experience.

Background: Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) is a rare disease characterized by alveolar accumulation of surfactant material with reduced lung function and resulting hypoxemia. It is characterized by a variable clinical course, and whole lung lavage (WLL) is the standard treatment. Herein, we report our multicentric experience of management of primary PAP.

Clinical Profile of Pediatric Oncology Patients Treated by External Beam Radiotherapy: An Institutional Experience.

Introduction: Pediatric tumors are a heterogeneous group of malignant conditions requiring multimodal treatment, and management of such cases is at time challenging. We present the clinical profile of pediatric cancer patients who received radiation, either alone or as adjuvant to surgery and chemotherapy; in prophylactic, radical or palliative clinical setting.

Aim: This study was envisaged to review our experience of pediatric oncology cases, their clinical and morphological profile, dosage schedule of radiotherapy, and the therapy induced complications.

MICROSURGICAL COMPOSITE TISSUE TRANSPLANTATION: A CLINICAL TRIAL.

Twenty four patients suffering from various ailments necessitating flap cover were treated with composite tissue transplantation by microsurgical techniques from July 1992 to July 1996.
