Objectives: The study aims to evaluate the pulp-to-tooth area ratio in permanent maxillary central incisors, lateral incisors, and canines for age estimation using three-dimensional cone beam computed tomography images.
Methods: Hundred cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of patients aged between 12-70 years were retrospectively studied using NNT Viewer software version 13. Pulpal and teeth area were evaluated with the "area tool" in the acquired images in all three planes, and the pulp-to-tooth area ratio (PTR) was calculated with the measurements obtained.

A dentinogenic ghost cell tumor (DGCT) is a rare and locally aggressive benign mixed odontogenic tumor, histologically made up of ameloblast-like epithelial islands, ghost cells, and dentin-like material. This is a highly unusual example of DGCT combined with an odontoma in a 13-year-old female patient affecting the right maxilla. On radiographic examination, ill-defined radiolucency with right maxillary sinus obliteration and involvement of permanent maxillary right first and second molars were noted.

Background And Aim: The law of the land assumes that a dentist will always use credible skill, care, and caution in the care of patients. Failing to do something that one is supposed to do (act of omission) or doing something that one is not supposed to do (act of commission) falls under the purview of medical jurisprudence. Each patient is legally entitled to get quality medical care from a physician; failure to such trust is an actionable offense and grievances can be challenged in consumer redressal forums.

Aim: The study aims to compare the effectiveness of scaling root planing alone and scaling root planing with oxygen-releasing gel in the treatment of chronic periodontitis.
Materials And Methods: A split-mouth randomized controlled trial was designed on 25 systemically healthy participants with 50 sites having chronic periodontitis. Two sites were selected for each patient and were randomly allocated into two groups.

Aging, tooth trauma, and pathological infections cause partial or total tooth loss, leading to the usage of dental implants for restoration treatments. As such, mechanical and tribological properties play an important role in the osseointegration and durability of these implants. Metallic and ceramic implants are shown to have mechanical properties much higher than the natural teeth structure, leading to stress shielding-related failure of an implant.

Background: In order to completely remove bacteria and debris from the root canal system, root canal treatment (RCT) calls for efficient irrigation methods. There is still a lack of research on the relative safety and efficacy of various irrigation systems in tertiary care settings.
Methods: Patients receiving RCT at a tertiary care endodontic clinic were included in a prospective comparison research of 150 subjects.

Background Chronic localized periodontitis is a prevalent and persistent inflammatory condition in which there is the gradual degradation of the gingiva, periodontal ligament fibers, and alveolar bone loss. The objectives of periodontal therapy encompass not solely the elimination of local factors from the periodontal pocket but also the eradication of the dysbiotic microbial milieu to restore periodontal health. The present study aimed to compare the efficacy of scaling and root planing (SRP) with and without the placement of placental extract gel in the therapeutic management of chronic localized periodontitis under magnification.

Background: Dental Unit Water Line (DUWL) deliver water to different handpieces in a dental unit. The water in DUWL circulates in a closed system, where it is taken from a container. The quality of dental water is of considerable importance since patients and dental staff are regularly exposed to water and aerosols generated from dental equipment.

Dental implant corrosion is now being recognized as a contributing factor in the onset and advancement of peri-implantitis, posing significant challenges to both the durability of implants and the well-being of patients. The dissemination of titanium microparticles due to corrosion raises concerns about plausible toxicity and biological effects, especially for patients with long-standing implant prostheses. This case report focuses on the release of titanium particles in the peri-implant mucosa due to corrosion and its association with peri-implantitis.

Purpose: This study explored the bio-mechanical properties of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and carbon fiber reinforced-PEEK (CFR-PEEK) as potential alternatives to traditional dental implant materials, such as titanium (Ti) and zirconia (ZrO). Conventional implant materials often exhibit stress shielding leading to peri-implant bone loss and implant failure.
Study Selection: Finite element analysis using a three-dimensional computer-aided-design (3D CAD) model of the jawbone with various implant materials (titanium, zirconia, PEEK, and CFR-PEEK) incorporated was implemented to assess the effectiveness of PEEK and CFR-PEEK.

For treating chronic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, herbal medicines are preferred due to their evident therapeutic effects and lesser side effects as compared to the long-term used conventional drugs. In this study, the anti-rheumatoid arthritis effect of an unexplored marine grass Halodule pinifolia (HP), and a combination of it with Glycyrrhiza glabra (liquorice; LQ), prepared as a conventional suspension (C1) and a lipid nano-emulsion (C1-N) was evaluated in Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA)- and collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) models. Formulations C1 and C1-N contained standardized extract HP (100 mg/kg) as major active ingredient and liquorice LQ (50 mg/kg) as both active ingredient (anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcer) and sweetening agent.

Idiopathic osteosclerosis (IO) is described as a localized radiopacity of unknown etiology. Also known as dense bone islands, enostoses, bone scar, or focal periapical osteopetrosis, it is generally clinically asymptomatic and appears round, elliptical, or irregular in shape on a radiograph. The internal structure is usually homogenous.

Four surgical treatment modalities namely cryosurgery, scalpel and blade surgery, diode LASER surgery and CO2 LASER surgery in the management of oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) in terms of healing outcomes post operatively and recurrence is evaluated. The study included sixty outpatients whose biopsies revealed OPMDs (oral lichen planus, homogeneous leukoplakia, non-homogenous leukoplakia and erythroplakia). There is decrease in post-operative pain and oedema in all four treatment categories at one week follow up and two week follow up.

Salivary stones are termed as sialoliths, and the condition is referred to as sialolithiasis. Pain and swelling in the affected area, especially after eating, occur often. Small, easily accessible stones may be managed with conservative methods, such as milking of ducts, along with palliative care, whereas bigger, more difficult-to-reach stones need surgical removal.
