Background: A single species of the genus Germar, 1824 is native to the south-eastern United States and was a pest of avocado in Florida in the mid-20 century. Two names- (Olivier, 1807) and (LeConte, 1824)-have both recently been used as the valid name for this species, with also being recently used as the valid name for a species from French Guiana. Confusion surrounding the correct application of these names and the distribution of these species traces back to an erroneous distribution given in Olivier's 1807 description of and, although some authors clarified this previously, there continues to be confusion concerning the correct name.

This study presents multi-instrument observations of persistent large-scale traveling ionosphere/atmospheric disturbances (LSTIDs/LSTADs) observed during moderately increased auroral electrojet activity and a sudden stratospheric warming in the polar winter hemisphere. The Global Ultraviolet Imager (GUVI), Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer, Scanning Doppler Imaging Fabry-Perot Interferometers, and the Poker Flat Incoherent Scatter Radar are used to demonstrate the presence of LSTIDs/LSTADs between 19 UT and 5 UT on 18-19 January 2013 over the Alaska region down to lower midlatitudes. This study showcases the first use of GUVI for the study of LSTADs.

The lack of evidence for large-scale glacial landscapes on Mars has led to the belief that ancient glaciations had to be frozen to the ground. Here we propose that the fingerprints of Martian wet-based glaciation should be the remnants of the ice sheet drainage system instead of landforms generally associated with terrestrial ice sheets. We use the terrestrial glacial hydrology framework to interrogate how the Martian surface gravity affects glacial hydrology, ice sliding, and glacial erosion.

The patient is an 82-year-old male with a past medical history of aortic valve replacement who presented to the emergency department after a fall. He developed atrial fibrillation with a rapid ventricular response and non-ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction, leading to hospitalization. During hospital admission, the patient complained of midline thoracic back pain, and an extensive evaluation for this complaint revealed discitis and osteomyelitis with epidural abscess near the T7 and T8 vertebrae that did not result in neurological deficits and required no surgical intervention.

Space weathering is a key process in the interpretation of airless planetary surfaces. As we engage new missions to planetary objects with potentially novel surfaces such as 16 Psyche, there is renewed interest in expanding our knowledge of space weathering effects to a wider variety of analog materials, including the physical/chemical effects of solar-wind ions on planetary regoliths. We have experimentally simulated the effects of solar ions on two polished thick sections of meteoritic troilite (FeS) via irradiation with 1 keV hydrogen (H) and 4 keV helium (He), to investigate effects resulting from different ion species.

The period of disrupted human activity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, coined the "anthropause," altered the nature of interactions between humans and ecosystems. In this paper, we propose a guiding operational definition and corresponding set of empirical steps to identify and study trapped populations. Trapped populations consist of actors who are highly vulnerable to climate and environmental stressors given limited resources (economic, social, etc.), which limit their ability to adapt to these stressors in-situ or by choosing to migrate.
