The objective of this paper is to examine a number of factors (observed and latent) that might have a causal effect on drinking and driving (D&D) behaviour. Face-to-face surveys were conducted among patrons at bars and cafeterias and 305 valid questionnaires were filled. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed so as to identify the latent constructs and a mixed structural equation model was developed.

Genomic libraries were constructed from three Drosophila species, namely Drosophila auraria, Drosophila serrata, and Drosophila kikkawai, belonging to the Drosophila montium subgroup of the Drosophila melanogaster species group. Clones containing beta-tubulin specific sequences were isolated, characterized by restriction endonuclease digestions and Southern hybridizations, and mapped by in situ hybridization on the polytene chromosomes of the species studied. The distribution of the beta-tubulin loci was found to be similar in D.

Purpose: A Nesbit or plication procedure for correcting penile deformities is associated with penile shortening, especially in patients with excessive curvature and/or rotation. On the other hand, grafting procedures are associated with poor postoperative results due to graft shrinkage and veno-occlusive dysfunction. To minimize penile shortening and preserve potency we describe a new surgical technique combining the Nesbit procedure with tunica albuginea free grafting.

Objective: The examination of muscular and tibiofemoral joint forces during maximal efforts of the knee flexors.
Design: The muscular and tibiofemoral joint knee forces during eccentric and concentric isokinetic efforts of the knee flexors were determined using a two-dimensional mathematical model.
Background: The examination of joint and muscle loading during isokinetic movements is important for the determination of safety of this exercise.

Study Design: Single group, cross-sectional study.
Objectives: To measure various anthropometric and demographic variables in young male soccer players and to use these measurements to develop equations with which to predict the isokinetic, concentric, and eccentric moment of force.
Background: The development of equations that can predict isokinetic muscle strength from commonly measured subject characteristics can assist in the effective design of training and rehabilitation programs for athletic children.

In a phase II study, 66 patients with advanced breast cancer (median age 56 years; range, 28 to 75 years) were treated with paclitaxel (Taxol), 175 mg/m2 infused over 3 hours, and carboplatin (Paraplatin), dosed to attain an area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) of 6 mg x min/mL; treatment was repeated every 3 weeks. A total of 38 (58%) patients had received prior adjuvant chemotherapy, 21 with a regimen containing an anthracycline or mitoxantrone (Novantrone). As of May 1997, 295 cycles of paclitaxel-carboplatin have been administered, 248 (84%) at full dose.

The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) autoantibodies in the saliva of children with type 1 diabetes. A total of 30 diabetic children were used in this study while 80 healthy individuals of similar age were used as controls. Total saliva and peripheral blood was collected from all diabetic children and controls.

The effect of the protein source of the ration (soybean meal, cottonseed cake, corn gluten and fish meal) and the time (period) of blood sample taking was examined on the content of glucose and triacylglycerols in the blood during the initial lactation period. Thirty-six ewes of the Thessaloniki crossbred type were randomly allocated to 4 groups. The ewes of each group were fed ad libitum with one of the 4 different rations, respectively.
