Storage of meat has always been challenging due to its deterioration caused by oxidative rancidity and microbial activity, especially in trading. The melanin-coated film acts as a potent antioxidant, prevents the oxidation of fatty acids, and neutralizes the reactive oxygen species (ROS) helping to withstand or perpetuate the oxidative stress of meat. This study emphasizes the production of fungal melanin extracted from Curvularia lunata and the preparation of two different melanin film combinations of gelatin/melanin and agar/melanin at 0.

In the pursuit of efficient photocatalytic materials for environmental applications, a new series of g-CN/N-doped CeO nanocomposites (g-CN/N-CeO NCs) was synthesized using a straightforward dispersion method. These nanocomposites were systematically characterized to understand their structural, optical, and chemical properties. The photocatalytic performance of g-CN/N-CeO NCs was evaluated by investigating their ability to degrade methylene blue (MB) dye, a model organic pollutant.

Zintl clusters have attracted widespread attention because of their intriguing bonding and unusual physical properties. We explore the Si and SiM (where M = Li, Na, and K) Zintl clusters using the density functional theory combined with other methods. The exothermic nature of the SiM cluster formation is disclosed, and the interactions of alkali metals with pristine Si are shown to be noncovalent.

Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) are among the most commonly employed nanoparticle materials owing to their antibacterial qualities, although their primary mechanism of action (MOA) is still not completely understood. CuO NPs are synthesized in this study using leaf extract of Tabernaemontana divaricate (TDCO3), and they are then analyzed using XRD, FT-IR, SEM, and EDX analysis. The zone of inhibition of TDCO3 NPs against both gram-positive (G) B.

A benzofuran glycinamide-based chemosensor, 3-(2-([4-fluorobenzyl]amino)acetamido)benzofuran-2-carboxamide (BGA) was developed and synthesized for the selective and sensitive detection of Fe ions. The photophysical properties of the probe BGA were studied using UV-visible light absorption and fluorescence spectrophotometers. The chemosensor BGA showed a marked 'on-off' fluorescence response towards Fe ions in the presence of other metal ions in DMSO/H O solution (9/1, v/v).

Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 is a promising target for the treatment of cancer due to its involvement in base excision repair pathways for repairing DNA single-strand breaks. However, available PARP-1 inhibitors target a highly conserved PARPs catalytic domain, which causes toxicity due to the off-target activity. Therefore, the present study was hypothesized to identify selective inhibitors by targeting specific protein-protein interacting (PPI) PARP-1 BRCT domain.
