In order to produce eNK cells, healthy human donor NK cells undergo a 20-day expansion protocol with IL-2, IL-15 and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-transformed lymphoblastoid feeder cells. In order to produce an even more potent eNK-based therapy, we must elucidate the changes our protocol produces within healthy NK cells.

: To assess the clinical course, structural changes, and choroidal neovascularization detection by SS-OCTA in long-standing and resolved patients with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (cCSC) after successful half-fluence photodynamic therapy (hf-PDT) treatment. Twenty-four eyes presenting with cCSC were examined with SS-OCTA and were classified as choroidal neovascular (CNV) or non-choroidal neovascular (non-CNV) cCSC depending on the vascular pattern detected by SS-OCTA after one, two, and three years after hf-PDT. Two groups were compared based on the following clinical findings: demographic characteristics, time of clinical signs, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central retinal thickness (CRT), central choroidal thickness (CFT), subretinal fluid (SRF), flat, irregular pigment epithelial detachment (FIPED), and features of fluorescein angiography (FA) and vascular pattern by SS-OCTA.

Reports of Symptoms Associated with Supraventricular Arrhythmias as a Serious Adverse Drug Reaction in the Spanish Pharmacovigilance Database.

This study aimed to determine the type of drugs reported as suspected of causing severe supraventricular arrhythmias from the Spanish Human Pharmacovigilance System database. A total of 1053 reports were analysed, of which 526 (50%) were on men and 516 (49%) were on women. The most affected age group was the over-65s, with 593 reports (56%).

Background: Despite classical association between metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and obesity, there is increasing evidence on the development of MASLD in lean individuals. The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence and risk factors of MASLD and significant liver fibrosis in lean participants with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Methods: This was a cross-sectional, case-control study including 300 lean cases with IBD and 80 lean controls without IBD, matched by sex and age.

This study aimed at determining whether there is a difference in the safety profile between fast release (FR) aspirin tablets and regular galenic formulations of aspirin. This study was based on a clinical study database pool (Bayer HealthCare) including 84 clinical studies and 16,095 human subjects. The meta-analysis included 72 studies applying a single dose of aspirin of at most 1000 mg and was, therefore, based on individual data from 9288 subjects.

The efficacy of antibody-functionalized poly(d,l-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticles (NPs), prepared by nanoprecipitation, carrying rifampicin (RIF) against planktonic, sessile, and intracellular and is reported here. A biotinylated anti- polyclonal antibody, which binds to structural antigens of the whole bacterium, was functionalized on the surface of RIF-loaded PLGA-based NPs by using the high-affinity avidin-biotin complex. The aim of the systematic review is to assess the prevalence and risk factors of liver fibrosis in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and to discuss the role of liver fibrosis in the progression to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We performed a structured search in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Scopus up to 3 March 2023 to identify observational studies reporting liver fibrosis in patients with NAFLD and IBD. Quality of studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) score.
