Systemic autoinflammatory diseases caused by dysregulation of the innate immunity are a known cause of recurrent fevers. We present the molecular diagnosis results of 12 children with recurrent fever, analyzing the correlation between molecular findings and clinical symptoms. No pathogenic variants confirming autoinflammatory disease were found.

Background: Periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome is a recurrent fever syndrome. The exact etiopathogenesis of PFAPA syndrome remains unknown. Biological fluids or tissues may provide disease-specific biomarkers that may help clinicians to find new pathogenic pathways.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis leads to ulcers that cause severe pain, which is a substantial burden on patients. Equisetum arvense extract (EA) is a crude drug that promotes wound healing of mucous membranes caused by perineal incision during childbirth and alleviates pain. Here, we elucidated the effects of EA on wound healing and pain in a stomatitis hamster model.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a common oral lesion with no definitive treatment; current therapies primarily focus on symptom relief. This study aims to address the lack of high-quality clinical research by evaluating the effectiveness of Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) using GaAlAs 808 nm, AlGaInp 660 nm, and GaAs 635 nm lasers for managing aphthous lesions. The study focuses on the lasers' effectiveness in reducing pain, accelerating healing, enhancing patient satisfaction, and preventing recurrence compared to a control group.

Background: The association between recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) and neoplasms of the mouth and pharynx (NOMAP) has been reported in some previous observational studies. However, causality is still confused. Our research aims to explore the relationship between RAS and NOMAP through a Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and to explore whether RAS can serve as a risk factor for NOMAP to provide a reference for the clinical strategy.

Background: Due to the unclear etiology of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS), a painful and distressing condition with a high prevalence, the researchers have hypothesized a connection between sleep quality and RAS.
Methods: The cross-sectional study enrolled 10,138 Fasa Cohort Study participants aged 35-70 years. Various sleep quality factors were calculated and categorized based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Questionnaire.

Background: Gain of function (GOF) mutations in NOD-like receptor family CARD-containing 4 protein (NLRC4) gene induce a wide spectrum of autoinflammatory phenotypes. Currently, we categorize them into four groups: familial cold autoinflammatory syndrome (FCAS)4, autoinflammatory infantile enterocolitis (AIFEC), NLRC4-macrophage associated syndrome (MAS), and neonatal-onset multisystem inflammatory disease (NOMID). The rarity and complexity of the disease necessitate the description of new cases and a reexamination of our understanding of the condition.
