Introduction And Importance: Chest pain is a frequent reason patients seek medical attention. The broad spectrum of potential etiologies makes determining the underlying cause of chest pain complex. Among cardiovascular etiologies, aortitis is a rare but life-threatening possibility that should be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Background: The long isoform of the Wnk1 (with-no-lysine [K] kinase 1) is a ubiquitous serine/threonine kinase, but its role in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) pathophysiology remains unknown.
Methods: AngII (angiotensin II) was infused in to induce experimental aortic aneurysm. Mice carrying an allele were cross-bred with mice carrying a floxed allele to specifically investigate the functional role of Wnk1 in VSMCs.

Objectives: Tocilizumab has been increasingly reported as an alternative therapeutic agent in the management of Behçet's syndrome (BS) and it has been mostly tried in BS patients with neurological and eye involvement. As therapeutic responses to each drug may vary across different types of BS involvement, we aimed to report seven patients with large vessel involvement treated with tocilizumab.
Methods: We enrolled seven BS patients with vascular involvement who were given tocilizumab at the Behçet's Disease Research Centre in Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa between 2000 and 2022.

Infectious aortitis is a challenging radiographic diagnosis due to overlapping features with the noninfectious category. We present a case of a 58-year-old woman who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteremia. 18 F-FDG PET/CT demonstrated large vessel vasculitis involving the thoracic, abdominal aorta, and the brachiocephalic branches of the aortic arch, and an incidental subcutaneous abscess in the right arm.

An 81-year-old man with prostate cancer (cT3aN0M0), who had been undergoing hormonal therapy for 4 years and had maintained low prostate specific antigen levels, developed metastasized pelvic lymph nodes. A tissue biopsy revealed neuroendocrine differentiation of prostate cancer in the metastatic lymph nodes. Consequently, chemotherapy with carboplatin+etoposide was initiated.

Immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are considered as the novel treatment modality in certain cancers. They may soon be used widely even as the first-line option for cancer treatment due to their remarkable efficacies and impacts on survival rates, particularly in cases of advanced metastatic cancer. Of note, these agents might unveil new autoimmune diseases as well as causing flare-ups of a pre-existing autoimmune disease.

Objective: Primary aorto-enteral fistula (PAEF) is a connection between the gastrointestinal tract and the aorta that occurs without previous aortic surgery. The aetiological factors include, but are not limited to, aneurysm, infection, and tumours. It is a life threatening condition if untreated and requires emergency vascular surgical repair.

Background: Brucella infection is uncommon among peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients in non-endemic areas, and the occurrence of both peritonitis and abdominal aortitis is rare.
Case Presentation: In December 2023, a 63-year-old male patient undergoing PD was admitted to Shaoxing Second Hospital due to fever, abdominal pain, and cloudy dialysate. Upon physical examination, diffuse mild abdominal pain and tenderness were observed.

Background: IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a rare, systemic immune-mediated fibro-inflammatory condition with an unclear etiology and pathophysiology, potentially affecting multiple organs. It presents with common clinical, radiological, and serological characteristics. This study aims to compare the latest two IgG4-RD classification and diagnostic criteria: Umehara-Okazaki 2011 and ACR/EULAR 2019.

Background: Intracranial inflammatory pseudotumours (IPT) are rare entities that frequently lead to misdiagnosis with malignant lesions. The identification of these lesions is difficult, but important to avoid inadvertent iatrogenicity and to adjust therapeutic protocols.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a 30-year-old man who presented a single tonic-clonic seizure.

Syphilitic aortitis is a rare disease caused by Treponema pallidum affecting the aorta and leading to inflammation. Syphilitic aortitis is one of the causes of aortic aneurysms. This article presents surgical treatment of a patient with syphilitic aortitis and thoracic aortic aneurysm.

Reports of primary cardiovascular disease in goats are rare and most commonly include ventricular septal defect, valvular endocarditis, traumatic pericarditis, ionophore poisoning and nutritional cardiomyopathies. We now report the pathological findings in a 67 kg, 6-year-old, adult female Boer goat that presented with neurological signs (ie, head pressing, unsteadiness and paddling) and hyperthermia 2 days prior to death. Lack of therapeutic response to meloxicam and penicillin‒streptomycin and poor prognosis led to euthanasia of the animal.

Aims: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a common, serious vascular disease with no effective pharmacological treatment. The nucleoside adenosine plays an important role in modulating vascular homeostasis, which prompted us to determine whether adenosine kinase (ADK), an adenosine metabolizing enzyme, modulates AAA formation via control of the intracellular adenosine level, and to investigate the underlying mechanisms.
Methods And Results: We used a combination of genetic and pharmacological approaches in murine models of AAA induced by calcium chloride (CaCl2) application or angiotensin II (Ang II) infusion to study the role of ADK in the development of AAA.

Background: Multiple takayasu arteritis (TA) is a chronic nonspecific large to medium vasculitis disease that mainly accumulates the aorta and its branches. Pulmonary vascular disease is often seen as stenosis and occlusion, and patients may show no moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension (PH). This study aims to summarize the clinical characteristics and analysis of prognostic factors in patients with PH caused by TA.

Infectious aortitis is a rare entity with high mortality and should be considered in the presence of persistent bacteremia, especially in the absence of endocarditis. We present the clinical case of a woman who developed aortitis due to methicillin-sensitive , complicated with mycotic aneurysm and recurrent bacteremia, even under appropriate treatment. Given the concomitant probable diagnosis of malignant pancreatic neoplasia, the hypothesis of a possible relationship or contribution to bacteremia is raised.
