Background: Various endoscopic treatment options are available for managing colonic diverticular bleeding (CDB). We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness of these endoscopic interventions in achieving hemostasis in patients with CDB, focusing on early rebleeding rate (ERR) within 30 days.

Methods: A systematic literature search of the PubMed and Cochrane Library databases was performed for articles published between January 2008 and December 2023.

Background: The risk of gastrointestinal (GI) cancer after lung transplantation (LTx) in sarcoidosis patients is not well defined. Given the cancer risks linked to sarcoidosis and organ transplantation, this study investigated the incidence of GI malignancies (DNM), comparing LTx recipients with sarcoidosis or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Methods: We analyzed data from the United Network for Organ Sharing registry, including adults with sarcoidosis or IPF who underwent LTx between May 2005 and December 2018.

T lymphocytes are well-recognized as crucial components of effective anti-tumor immunity, and current immunotherapeutic strategies concentrate mainly on T-cell-mediated immunity reinforcement, whereas the role of B lymphocytes and plasma cells (PCs) has been neglected in the past, and it is only recently that these cells have been considered as key players in the tumor microenvironment (TME). In this review, we describe the complex dual role of B lymphocytes and PCs in promoting and inhibiting tumor progression in the TME of digestive tract carcinomas, and we demonstrate their prognostic value.

Dietary Interventions in Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction: A Scoping Review.

Patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) are burdened by multiple diet-sensitive comorbidities, including obesity and malnutrition. Despite this, a low percentage of patients with HFpEF have been enrolled in dietary intervention trials in heart failure and few dietary interventions have been conducted in HFpEF exclusively. This scoping review will examine available evidence regarding dietary interventions in patients with HFpEF, highlight existing gaps in knowledge, and discuss emerging dietary therapies in this population.

Evaluating Graft Loss Risk in Living-Donor Kidney Transplants with Multiple Renal Arteries.

Introduction: Bleeding from the affected organs is a common manifestation of amyloidosis. The risk for perioperative bleeding in patients with amyloidosis remains controversial. Therefore, anatomic and clinical parameters to predict BOO have been proposed, including the prostate transition zone index (TZI) which is the ratio of prostate transition zone volume (TZV) to whole gland volume (WGV). Historically computed with ellipsoid volume estimation of prostate WGV and TZV from transrectal ultrasound measurements, controversy exists regarding the utility of TZI to predict likelihood of BOO on UDS and clinical outcomes following BPH surgery.

Identification of βIIΣ1-spectrin as a binding partner of the GH-regulated human obesity scaffold protein SH2B1.

SH2B1β is a multifunctional scaffold protein that modulates cytoskeletal processes such as cellular motility and neurite outgrowth. To identify novel SH2B1β-interacting proteins involved in these processes, a yeast two-hybrid assay was performed. The C-terminal 159 residues of the cytoskeleton structural protein, βIIΣ1-spectrin, interacted with the N-terminal 260 residues of SH2B1β, a region implicated in SH2B1β enhancement of cell motility and localization at the plasma membrane.
