Aims: Extragonadal yolk sac tumour (YST) is rare, and may present a diagnostic challenge. YST differentiation was recently reported in some somatically derived tumours in the sinonasal location and in the female genital tract, together with a SMARCB1/INI1 loss. We report two paratesticular/inguinal tumours with striking morphological and immunohistochemical similarities with YST, further expanding the spectrum of extragonadal tumours with YST-like morphology and SMARCB1/INI1 loss.

Hajdu-Cheney syndrome (HCS), caused by a heterozygous gain of function variant of the NOTCH2 gene, is a rare skeletal dysplasia. Although the main presentation is acro-osteolysis, osteoporosis, and facial dysmorphism, having a wide range of clinical manifestations creates diagnostic difficulties. [Multicentric Screening of Local Antibiotic Resistance in Uncomplicated Urinary System Infections: 1850 Patients from 37 Centers].

This study was aimed to identify the most frequently observed pathogens in uncomplicated urinary tract infections from outpatient urinary isolates obtained across seven different geographical regions in Türkiye and to determine whether the antibiotic resistance rates of these pathogens differ significantly between these regions. The study included patients aged 18 to 65 years who were diagnosed with uncomplicated urinary tract infections and had positive urine cultures from March 2021 to August 2022, across 37 different centers in Türkiye. The participating centers were selected based on their use of the disk diffusion method, in line with the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) guidelines, to ensure standardization of urine culture data.

Ocular hemodynamics in multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children: A cross-sectional study.

Purpose: To evaluate retinal vascular changes by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C).

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 21 patients who were diagnosed with MIS-C and had a history of hospitalization, 20 pediatric outpatients with a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) diagnosis, and 26 healthy children. All patients underwent a detailed ophthalmologic examination and OCTA.

Synergistic Protection of Vitamin B Complex and Alpha-Lipoic Acid Against Hepatic Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury: Boosting Antioxidant Defenses in Rats.

This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of vitamin B complex and alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) pre-treatments on hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) in rats, focusing on their potential to enhance antioxidant defense mechanisms and reduce post-ischemic liver damage. Thirty male Wistar albino rats were divided into four groups: sham group (n = 10), IRI group (n = 10), vitamin B group (n = 10), vitamin B + ALA group (n = 10). In the IRI, vitamin B, and vitamin B + ALA groups, the rats underwent 45 min of hepatic ischemia followed by 60 min of reperfusion.

Introduction: There exists a prevailing concern regarding the heightened susceptibility of women with a solitary kidney to unfavorable consequences during pregnancy. Irrespective of the underlying etiology, individuals with a solitary kidney are advised to have regular annual screenings for blood pressure and urinalysis due to their increased susceptibility to developing proteinuria, hypertension, and renal failure.

Objective: To investigate the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with a maternal solitary kidney by comparing maternal and fetal outcomes to those of healthy pregnant women.

Objective: Atrial high-rate episodes (AHRE) are atrial tachyarrhythmia episodes detected by implanted cardiac devices, characterised by an atrial rate exceeding 180-190 beats per minute. Recent studies have linked AHRE to the development of atrial fibrillation (AF) and increased stroke risk, especially when episodes last longer than 5-6 min. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between predictive factors and the occurrence of AHRE in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs).
